Mazarin is my take on a “thinker’s beer”. Rather than being big and undecipherably complex I wanted to create something that would calm a hop yearning nerve without fuddling the brain too much. In other words, a lavishly hopped ale of judicious ABV — an Extra Special Pale Ale if you will.
In fact, so extra special that it snatched a gold medal at the Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2013.

I ain’t gonna lie, I bought this for the label. Isn’t it cool? I liked the beer, though, as well. Clean and crisp, nicely hoppy, and light enough to drink a lot of. Good Stuff...

Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of pine, grassy hops, citrusy fruits, very weak notes of tropical fruits and some oat. Pretty hop forward. The taste has lots of citrus peel, pine, crisp hops which is extremely dry but yet with some juicy characteristics in terms of fruitiness. Pretty nice.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique, West End, 250615. Hazy orange colour, like the suns rays peeking through the clouds. Musky perfume like flavour that takes you by surprise.

330ml bottle (Gambrinus, Tartu)
Lovely light fruity hop aroma. Hazy to cloudy straw, persistent frothy head. Light palate, pleasant carbonation. Gently wheaty grains, but plenty of citrussy fruity hops. After the first taste it’s a bit watery and thin. Nice bitter bite in the finish.

Cloudy orange pour with a two finger, fluffy white head. Aroma is sweet orangey citrus, soapy and floral hops, biscuit, caramel, and toast. Flavor is caramel, toast, bread crust, sweet citrus, light herbal and floral hops, sweet oatmeal and light, sweet berry. Fairly light body, creamy feel throughout, light to medium, blanketing carbonation. Pretty good, nice depth of malt character.
