On a stop over in Baltimore we were hosted by an overwhelmingly hospitable man – Brian Strumke aka Stillwater. Getting hammered drinking his potions - made out of rice and corn - it was with a sense of inspiration that we drove of early in the morning to catch out flight back to Sweden. Nathalius is an imperial IPA brewed with rice and corn. However, fair and alluring as though she might seem this miss will whip you into submission.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of lemons and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrusy hops, malt, and brewing cereal, leading to a very bitter and raw finish.

Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm. Cloudy straw colour, creamy head. Rich aroma of peach, butter and grapefruit. Dry with light body and empty mouthfeel. After the intensely aromatic nose it is a complete trainwreck with no body to support the immense bitterness it turns into an inky, resiny mess. Nearly undrinkable.

Bottle. An unclear, yellowish-orange beer topped by a dense, off-white head of moderate size. Almost chalky on the nose, with some citrusy, piney notes and malty sweetness. Lacking complexity all the way. Very bitter on the palate, with grassy, citrusy herbal notes and a little sweetness. Some warmth on the palate, full-bodied and with a nice carbonation level. Way out of balance this one, and not very well composed. 140418
