“Neb” is a home brew recipe that has been scaled up with no consideration to economies of scale. Some say idiotic, and as an economist I would have to agree. Get fresh or die trying.

330ml bottle. Aroma - mostly lost on my stuffed sinuses. Dark yellow color with a persistent white head. Tastes mostly citrus pith hops bitterness with a very, very minor malt sweetness. The pithy hops are a bit unique, at least of things I’ve been drinking lately. Overall, this seems a bit overrated, as it’s very unbalanced toward the bitterness, but it is unique without question. Glad I tried it, don’t need to try it again.

33cl bottle courtesy of hugi, danke. Subtle fragrancies of white grapefruit rind, honey, lime and boiled lemongrass, gooseberry with some abv knocking. Taste is less fruity than anticipated, focussing on a resinous range of fresh birch bark, seedcake, wet white wood, older white citrus rind. Some paint thinner in the finish, accompanying a lingering woody bitterness. Nice inverted photo negative US flag label design, not sure about any intentions by way of Sweden, through Belgium, with an Italian name...

Bottle, BBE 17/12/15. Pours a yellowy orange with a good-sized, nice-looking off-white head. Aroma fresh off the bottle is hoppily green, but after pour turns to a more fruity hoppiness and a tad boozy. Taste is tropically fruity somewhat, rather pithy and resinous, no pine though. Dry and bitter, somewhat harsh. A tad boozy. Fairly full with fairly strong carbonation, drinks rather heavy. Not the greatness I expected.

330ml bottle from Systembolaget Storheden, Frothy white head to an unclear orange coloured body. Spotty lacing down the glass. Mixed aroma of malty sweetness and fruity hops. Flavour of apricot, dough, herbal hops and sweet malts. Dry bittersweet ending. Medium to full bodied. Mostly hidden alcohol. Heavy to drink (shared with djoeye, hotel room, Luleå 24.05.2014).

Brown 33cl bottle 8.5% b@Systemet Storheden: Off-white 2-finger head, a bit hazy golden amber body. Aroma; completely blended sauce of hops and malts, barely possible to find tracks of resiny apricot and gooseberry. Very blended taste as well, bitter dominance. Palate ok, body ok, carbonation smooth. Severe bitterness in finish, bitter mixture. Overall; may’ve been best 2012 and 2013, but I doubt now. (shared w Rune @Park Hotel (Luleå) Sat24May2014)

Bottle, swap with hackobock. Pours in light hazy, orange to pale body with pretty high frosty head. Aroma has a lot of tropical fruits, pineapple, mango, slightly floral with touch of pine harshness. Taste has high honey sweetness upfront with high fruity citrusy bitterness right after. Little bit of grass in the after taste, herbs. I like the complex sweetness profile, touches of light caramel. Body is full, high carbonation.

Truly a great double IPA. Body of malt, with a slight touch of caramel. Taste of delicious fruity hops, very fresh, yet fulfilling. Very good.
