“Neb” is a home brew recipe that has been scaled up with no consideration to economies of scale. Some say idiotic, and as an economist I would have to agree. Get fresh or die trying.

Bottle sample. Thanks David c. Hazy amber with white head. Lychee, a little floral and nango in the nose. bitter, hoppy, tropical fruit in the mouth. A little juicy, medium-bodied, hoppy, mildly bitter finish. Ok.

Pours a dark golden colour with two fingers of head and some sediment. The aroma is full of grape fruit, crushed pine needles, resin, some mixed herbs, a hint of booziness and some apricots in the background. Palate is medium bodied with nice freshness and lift, some malty sweetness and a good, lasting bitterness on the long finish. Very nice.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2014 The beer is very cloudy. The color is bright orange. The aroma is great with hints of banana, lemon and lots of hops. The flavors explodes as the beer touches the palate. Lots of grapefruit, pineapple and orange. An unusually sour and sweet IPA. Let me say this about the beer. You can?t do it any better than this.

(330ml bottle from LCBO) Pours a hazy medium orange, moderate frothy white cap with tons of lace. Aroma is maybe a bit faded due to age but still reasonably bright. Pineapple, apricot, citrus rind, earthy pine, caramel malts. On the palate, sweet and somewhat malty at first, caramel and slight bread with a touch of honey and some fruit - apricot, tropicals. Middle of the sip on it becomes pithy with wet grassy herbal character, slightly peppery and a bit medicinal. Quite bitter towards the finish, dries out malt body almost completely. The hops seem a little brash in the latter part of the sip in particular. Maybe age showing, suppressing the fruit a bit more than the bittering. Mouthfeel medium-full, slightly creamy, softer carb. A fairly big, brash and bitter DIPA with a strong malt core but while it seems quite decent I really need to try it fresh to give it a fair shake. Recent offerings from GLB and Bellwoods consumed just after bottling feel better balanced.

Bottle (33cl) from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Half-inch sticky white head, good retention, leaves a stable thick film and a very nice band of lacing. Slightly hazy, golden/amber colour.. Pungent, rich hoppy aroma with pineapple, lemon zest, resin, pine, elderflower Full body, lively carbonation. Highly well-balanced taste with a powerful, bitter, salty-resinous finish.

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden hue with a short lived white head, and some very large clumsy bubbles. Lots of resinous hops up front, grapefruit, and unfortunately (and I REALLY wish I was joking) a pretty apparent smell that comes across a little too much like urine for my liking. Resinous notes, big alcohol, light caramel, faint black licorice, and mineral notes that lead into metallic bitterness, woody notes, grassy notes, and a pithy finish. I don’t know if this is past it’s prime, but the urine odour is seriously distracting, I just flat out can’t ignore it, and the finish comes across a little stale. Underwhelming for sure, and not at all worth the price tag.

Deep golden with off white head - Good hoppy aroma with flowers, fruits and pine - Good malt body to support a very good hop profile with fruits and pine with a good bitterness - Long lasting hop dry finish - This was good

A light orange colour, a head is big and blond. The nose is quite great and strongly tropical fruity. Mangos, grapefruits, some papaiyas and peaches, balanced fructose, also fresh pine needles. Taste is strongly bitter but also aromatic, lots of pine needles and grapefruits, some mangos, nice and low sweetness, also citrusfruity sourness. The end is dry with resin and pine. Surprisingly, easy to drink with medium bodied, and medium carbonation. Strongly hopped DIPA that is not too sweet or heavy. Strong bitterness that is still balanced. Great beer.
