“Neb” is a home brew recipe that has been scaled up with no consideration to economies of scale. Some say idiotic, and as an economist I would have to agree. Get fresh or die trying.

Pale golden pour with a thin white head. The nose is tropical and slightly peppery/earthy. It’s got a little bit of a pungency that I kind of recall from Norrebro back in the day. Some pineapple and a touch of garlic that I could probably do without. Mild sweetness but is dominated by resinous/earthy notes rather than bright aromatics. Not sure how it’s been handled but there is a bit of mintiness on the back as well. It finishes fairly dry with an assertive lingering bitterness. Spicy and dank on the finish. Okay - but is showing some age.

Pours a hazy orange colour. Big open hoppy aroma with pine cones, a bit of resin, and a hint of citrus. I bet this one is amazing freshly brewed. Resinous palate and hoppy notes are jumping out of the glass with some grassy hoppy notes and shows a bit of sweetness. Very tasty stuff.

The cheap black and white tiger stripe graphic doesn't do this justice. Great hoppy aromas. Citrus. Taste of Belgian yeasts. Full points for having a bold IPA that doesn't suck.

Perhaps my taste buds were gone, but I would have thought of this more as a high alcohol wheat beer by the look and taste. Pours cloudy light, pale gold with frothy white head.

Pours a pale cloudy straw colour, with a fizzy white head. Aroma includes huge notes of pine, grapefruit, and mango. Taste notes include dusty citrus, pine, resin, and a peppery finish. Not much of a malt presence for an IIPA, but this beer probably is not as fresh as it should be. If this beer was fresh, I could imagine how much more awesome it would be! I would definitely have had no idea that his beer is 8.5% alcohol! Making this beer dangerously drinkable!

Extremely open fresh hop flavours bringing pine grapefruit and grass, fruity base, moderately astringent. Pours pale and cloudy, excellent.

330 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a cloudy golden colour with decent-sized, lasting white head that leaves a little lace. Aroma is big resiny and spicy hoppiness, some tropical fruit and gentle crackery grains. Flavour is full of pine resin, spicy hops, grapefruit rind and a bit of graininess. Solid bitterness in finish. Medium body with a bit of silkiness in the mouthfeel. Nice one.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a medium off-white head. Lively carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of flower petals, caramel, biscuit, tangerine and a hint of Edam cheese. Flavour of minerals, orange, green hops and pine. Dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A sublime Imperial IPA - outrageously drinkable for 8.5% ABV.

33 cl bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.

App.: Cloudy deep golden with a nice light tan head. Aroma: Quite peppery and spicy, resin, tropical fruitiness, light biscuit and possibly Vienna/Munich malt support. Palate: Medium+ body, fairly full carbonation. Flav.: Quite peppery, much less fruitiness, all business and no play, moderate biscuit and British malt support, maybe a touch of honey; dry with big bitterness and a long, quite peppery finish.

A little too hardcore for me. So much pepper.

Bottle from the LCBO. Very hazy amber with a two finger off white head that hangs around a while leaving a bit of lace. Nose is a big dose of pine, resin, grapefruit and grass with small doses of toffee, honey and vanilla. Intensely bitter from start to finish with some caramel and honey sweetness making an appearance in the middle to take the edge off. Finish has a bit of spice. Medium body with lively carbonation. Excellent.
