3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
From a 12 oz bottle, this DIPA had a citrusy aroma not normally found in European offerings. Poured a cloudy orange with a medium head and strong lacing throughout. To be fair, this wasn’t my first IPA of the night and so the rating may be a bit low.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a cloudy golden colour with decent-sized, lasting white head that leaves a little lace. Aroma is big resiny and spicy hoppiness, some tropical fruit and gentle crackery grains. Flavour is full of pine resin, spicy hops, grapefruit rind and a bit of graininess. Solid bitterness in finish. Medium body with a bit of silkiness in the mouthfeel. Nice one.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a medium off-white head. Lively carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of flower petals, caramel, biscuit, tangerine and a hint of Edam cheese. Flavour of minerals, orange, green hops and pine. Dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A sublime Imperial IPA - outrageously drinkable for 8.5% ABV.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
33 cl bottle from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Cloudy deep golden with a nice light tan head.
Aroma: Quite peppery and spicy, resin, tropical fruitiness, light biscuit and possibly Vienna/Munich malt support.
Palate: Medium+ body, fairly full carbonation.
Flav.: Quite peppery, much less fruitiness, all business and no play, moderate biscuit and British malt support, maybe a touch of honey; dry with big bitterness and a long, quite peppery finish.
A little too hardcore for me. So much pepper.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from the LCBO. Very hazy amber with a two finger off white head that hangs around a while leaving a bit of lace. Nose is a big dose of pine, resin, grapefruit and grass with small doses of toffee, honey and vanilla. Intensely bitter from start to finish with some caramel and honey sweetness making an appearance in the middle to take the edge off. Finish has a bit of spice. Medium body with lively carbonation. Excellent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cL bottle from the LCBO, served in a stem glass. Pours slightly hazy amber with a large beige head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a moderate amount of fine lace. The nose has big notes of citrus peel and orange, along with pine, pineapple, resin and biscuity malts. The flavour is moderate-intensely bitter throughout with big resin, citrus and pine on a biscuity malt background. Notes of grapefruit, grass and pineapple also come through nicely. It closes out with a long, peppery-citric hoppy bitter finish. On the palate it is medium in body with a milky texture, medium acidity and a moderate bite from the carbonation. Overall, a very nice imperial IPA with an impressive hop profile. Bittering hops are nicely complex, but the aroma could be a bit more prominent; I wonder if a fresher bottle might have a nicer nose. 2014-07-10

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Wow. Wonderful hoppy bouquet wafts out of the glass. Tropical fruits and citrus are the focus. Fiery orange colour and a white foam cap. The flavour has the sweetness from the malt sharply contrasted with the big smack of assertive bitterness from the hops. Not an aggressive, throat scratching bitterness, but a pleasant, well integrated bitterness that adds dimension to the beer. Medium bodied and a long lingering finish that is dominated by holy aromatics and bitterness. Best double IPA I’ve had in a while.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
My oh my, look who we’ve let into Canada. Pop the cap off this beauty & right away your nose is slapped with a bouquet of squeezed citrus & dripping peaches. Fantastic stuff. Pours a bright tangerine dream with a slushy cap. Flavour is pure hop bomb with grapefruit & swirls of summer fruit. I love this, grow weak in the knees just writing this, becoming paranoid that the supply at my local liquor store is too small, that other local hop heads are plotting against me. Damn.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle. Best before 05/02/16. Pours a hazy orange with a one and a half finger, white head that laces well. Aroma has big notes of pineapple, pine, resin, and orange citrus. Taste is a strong bitter. Large notes of pineapple, and orange citrus. Almost like orange sherbet or creamsicle. Pine, resin, and a mild alcohol. Mild bitter aftertaste. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. Smooth in the mouth. Not quite syrupy. Light and lively carbonation. Overall a tasty brew. Big pineapple and orange citrus notes. Light and very drinkable. Well worth a drink.
