“Neb” is a home brew recipe that has been scaled up with no consideration to economies of scale. Some say idiotic, and as an economist I would have to agree. Get fresh or die trying.

From a 12 oz bottle, this DIPA had a citrusy aroma not normally found in European offerings. Poured a cloudy orange with a medium head and strong lacing throughout. To be fair, this wasn’t my first IPA of the night and so the rating may be a bit low.

Hazy orange, small offwhite head. Aroma has grapefruit and sweet grapes. Flavour has strong, hoppy bitterness, orange, orange peel well balanced by a solid caramely malt backbone. Long, dry and bitter finish. ABV well hidden. Very nice.

Leicht trübes orangegelbes Bier mit schöner leicht beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr nach exotischen Früchten, hopfig, leicht bitter. Geschmack sehr bitter hopfig, milde exotisch fruchtige Aromen, Eisbonbons.

Un nez, explosion de fruits tropicaux, de résine et citrus. En bouche, le grain apporte un beau malt, l'amertume décoché et le côté vert du houblon ressort. La finale est persistante et forte en goût. Une IPA comme je les aime! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy orange/golden. Small head. Aroma of tropical fruits. Taste is well balanced and quite hoppy, but not that bitter, and tropical fruits. An easy drinker!

Pours golden, maybe a bit on the orange side, with a small white head. Aroma is full-on - floral and fruity pungent hops that are balanced with some sweeter fruity notes. Maybe a hint, only a hint of alcohol that is also abundantly packed into this brew. Hop-attack in the taste is imminent - in the best West Coast fashion, the beer is quite dry but very resiny, hops spiking your tongue as you take the sip. Fruitiness is there to balance things out and does it extremely well, this beer is as balanced as a beam with two same weight pans. I might wish for some more body but I guess that the brewer intended this to be easy-drinking. It is dangerously so, 8,5% is nowhere to be felt. No wonder this beer has so high marks, it deserves it.

330ml bottle. Hazy golden-orange body, medium white head, good retention. Aroma of tropical and stone fruits, honey, flowers, a touch of ginger and pepper. Taste dominated by the piney hops, orange candies, honey, again some ginger. Ok.

Rusted orange pour with an average off-white head that leaves a decent amount of lace. Dense citrus dominates the nose with some lighter pine notes and caramel underneath. Mostly the same on the palate. Finishes with a lot of that dense citrus note and high bitterness. A quality brew but it doesn’t really stand out in the sea of IIPAs for me.

Bottle from Systembolaget Strömstad. Pours golden. Average amount of white head. Lots of citrus, grapefruit and some alcohol nose. Low carbonation and thick, oily mouth feel (true to style). Quite bitter, but not over the top. Clementine, some grapefruit, some lemon and pine flavour. Very good!
