Very true to the style that originated in Köln (Cologne), Germany. Our Kolsch is unfiltered and cold-conditioned. The result is a beer that is clean and refreshing, with a crisp finish. It is agreeable without being boring, the beer liver’s session ale.

Not a lot of flavor or aroma. Some people may like this type of beer but for meit doesn’t do it.

Gold. Nose is tinny malt with citrus. Flavor is tart, almost cider-like with more citrus and mild wet malt. Drinkable enough.

Had a pint at the taproom in Madison, very nice welcoming spot. Having just drank some Kolsch in Cologne Germany on a unplanned train stop there I was happy to see One Barrel had one on offer It was pale straw with a nice white head, hit the ABV expectation, thankfully they stayed true and didn’t mess it up with hops. nice and refreshing, I really enjoyed it.

Tap at the brewpub. Slightly hazy light gold pour with a small white head. Grainy, slightly sweet. Fine for the style.

Draft. Baseline koelsch that has a distincly small brewery character, too hard a style to tackle for such a small and basic operation.

A blonde kolsch with a thin white head. In aroma, a smooth grainy malt, OK. In mouth, a light grainy malt with a rather watery body, so-so. On tap at brewpub, Jan 20 2012.

On tap at Vintage Brewing - Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Nose is light and fruity, with mellow grain and a touch of grape. Taste is the same--real crisp and grainy, with a nice fruity grape flavor through the finish. A bit of sharp carbonation detracts, but the thin body is spot on. Liked this almost as much as Reissdorf.

On tap at One Barrel. Hazy yellow with a thin white crown. Aroma of malt, light fruit and grains. Taste is on the lighter side with grains, wheat and herbal notes. Crisp and bland.
