Dickinsonbeer (2480), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Feb 20, 2008 Pours a crystal clear light gold with a fluffy lasting hea dand nice lively carbonation. Aroma is corny gritty, light cereal, and some doguhy pils- hops are toned down but lihgtly spicy. Flavor is a bit on the light side, some corn and light DMS, corn grits, light corn sugar/suyrupy sweetness - some dough and bread with a very light spiced hop bitterness. Tastes fresh- would want more hops. Very clean overall. Nice start! Hmm. As it warms the aroma opens up a bit more and becomes less corny and becomes more doughy and fresh pils- brready. Nice. kramer17801 (1846), sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 17, 2008 Growler from brewery, 1 day old. Pours a clear pale yellow body under a fizzy and foamy one inch white head that fell to a thin covering. Nice exuberant visible carbonation. The nose is heavy bready and doughy pils malt with a nice, though somewhat more muted than I’d like, Saaz hop aroma. The flavor is much the same as the aroma, with only moderate bitterness on the finish. The body is about perfect, nice and hefty for a pils, with a soft texture and pinpoint carbonation. Overall, I think that this beer is on the right track, but it really needs to be just more assertive with the hops. Another good dose of Saaz at the end of the boil would go far.
