Draft. Orange malt, light nut, and orange peel aroma. Light amber with small head. Sweet orange malt and moderately bitter orange peel flavor with a light nutty finish. Solid.

Draft sample @ Back Road festival. Buttery caramel malt and peanut butter aroma. Slightly hazed amber with a small off-white head. Sweet caramel and peanut butter flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. The peanut butter thing was surprising .. not sure where that was coming from.

From a growler my brother picked up. Pours dark copper with off-white head. Aromas of citrus and caramel malts and unfortunately tons of sanitizer. Flavor was heavy with sanitizer and bitter hops. I dont know if they forgot to empty the growler before filing it or what but this was undrinkable. Hate to rate it this way but they sold it this way.

Draft pour on tap at the brewery (Lansing, IL). Pours a richer amber pour, firm haziness with frothy offwhite head, firm ring laces ok overall. Laces small. Aromas are a stark contrast of sweet sticky toffee, toast, and fresher floral and earthy hops. Toast, biscuits, carmelization. Crystal malts give a firm malt presence, decent hop kicking. Earthy floral, grassy, and a bit weedy hops. Gentle spice, firmly carmelized. Initial is medium bodied, perhaps a bit lighter. Offering sticky toffee, bread, and biscuits. Carmelization, toffee, as the middle gets a bit thick, with the dry floral and earthy hops opening up into the backend, dry and fairly potent as we get in. Dry and richly bitter florals, a bit weedy, and earthy hops assert, floral and bitter resinous pine into the backend and finish, lingering on resinous and bitter. This beer starts with some bad signs but develops into a formidible brew with some nice deeper hop elements slowly growing as a wave, remaining really bitter as we get further in. Not bad. Front kinda loses me overall but with some fine tuning, the backend could carry this beer to a really nice offering, especially when fresh.
