An imperial Baltic Porter as dark as the Estonian winter nights. Strong enough to keep you warm through the cold evenings.

At first it is startling. Then it is surprising. And in the end it is warming.

Põhjala Öö was the first craft beer I ever tried. It’s smokey, plum taste gives a nice added touch to the full body of Black IPA. Lovely lableing. Overall a pretty decent and great charactered BIPA

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2014 Great surprise. Definitely huge brew. Well.. I am bit coffee fetish and this one.. this one fits me =] Intense roasted malts, lots of cocoa, coffee, choco.. great combo. Second wave comes with dried fruits, licorice, vanilla Smooth and warming finish. ABV well hidden. Perfectly balanced, highly enjoyable brew. Actually its more like IMP for me, thou Baltic porter influence, makes this beer more extraordinary

Approached with high expectations, so perhaps not so fair score. The rich experience was ... was a bit too rich, even too noisy for me. Still compliments to brewmaster for trying hard - there’s enough of great aroma and taste nuancesnotes for at least 5 great tasting beers each with with crystalclear character. Looking forward to next crafts.

Bottle, courtesy of K0mpsa. Black color, even looks like cola with small beige head. Wonderful aroma of coffee, roasted malts, vanilla cream. Lovely! Full bodied, toasted coffee beans and spices. Excellent in my opinion.

Bottle. Dark brown body, dark creamy head. Coffee aroma, something sweet also (jam maybe). Taste of roasted malts, smoky, bitter chocolate, medium hoppy. Quite bitter finish. Good. And - it is Estonian.
