3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a growler. Nut, roast, a little funk, and a little coffee in the aroma. Flavor starts slightly sweet with some chocolate and nut. Roast coffee bitterness and a slightly unpleasant metallic taste in the finish. Overall a nice beer--will try more from Opa-Opa.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Growler. Pours a fizzy dark brown color with no head. Nose is chocolate, dry roast, malted milk. Palate is stingy and dry with quite a bit of carbonation. Flavors of chocolate, cola, dry roasty malts. Tastes a lot like a diet coke with chocolate and vanilla.

Dark but not super dark brown with tan head. Aroma roasted malts. Medium bodied. Flavors roasty and toasty, some background of maybe a little dry hops and tiny amount of molasses-like sweetness. Reasonable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler, from Julio’s. Labeled simply as ’Porter’ on the neck tag. Pours a clear mahogany brown body with a fizzy one finger light brown head. The nose is mostly dry chocolate malt with a touch of coffee and a minimal hint of hops. The flavor is a pretty standard Brown Porter, on the drier side with chocolate malt, a light roastiness, some moderate bitterness towards the finish. Light to medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Pretty decent, an easy drinker.

Growler pour from some body at DLD, I remember vanilla and coffee with light notes of chocolate. A little thin on the mouth but it was pretty good. How the hell I have kept all these beers straight is beyond me.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Growler from their brewery in Williamsburg, Massachusetts. It is a dark black color with reddish tinges under just the faintest trace of foam around the bare edge of the glass. Bringing the glass to my nose, I pick up some roasted nutty wafting around. The mouthfeel is full, teetering just on the edge of being considered "watery" but never actually crossing that boundary. A roasty sweetness swims into the flavor and leaves the faintest bit of chalky in the aftertaste. A very refreshing porter.
