4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
2nd December 2013
Euston Tap. Keg. God I love beer! Even after 12000 of them something like this can come from nowhere and astonish and delight me. It’s a hazy gold beer with a small white head. Palate is light and airy but has a sharp crispness. Big sherbet candy fruits. Really - this is like sticking Trebors refreshers and those hard Fizzers sweets in yer gob at the same time. Riding over this is a light floral lime spice. Finishes smooth with even more sherbet. Amazing! A real nostalgia trip to the candy sweets I loved in the 60s and 70s but presented in the form of a beer. Don’t where all these crap ratings come from for this one but they are all very wrong - this beer is a joy!

31/X/13 - 50cl bottle @ home - BB: 11/IX/13 (2013-1015) Thanks to Marie for the bottle!
Clear orange beer, lots of chunks floating around under a creamy white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, very spicy, mint, vegetable soup, very weird. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very spicy, mint, toothpaste, citrus touch, little bitter. Aftertaste: lots of mint, bitter touch, King peppermints.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Intensive herbal aroma, it doesn’t remind of absinth but it’s mostly mint. Medium, durable head. Cloudy golden body. Not very intensive taste, watery with anise aftertaste. Interesting but not as good as plain beer with the addition of absinth (don’t try this at home).

500 ml bottle. BB 31/09/13. Courtesy of FatPhil. Thanks!
Cloudy yellow golden colour with a small white head.
Came gushing out of the bottle. Some spices, mint and sweetness in the aroma. It was so many years ago when I last time tasted Absinthe so I can’t remember what the aroma or flavour was. Anise, malt and sweetness in the flavour. Strange. Not very good.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
(Bottle, 0.5 l, courtesy of FatPhil, 20130713) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had black pepper and other spices. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were black pepper, sweetness, other spices and light bitterness. Aftertaste was burning and mildly bitter. Spicy and sweet messy brew.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Over foaming bottle. Pale hazy body with medium head. Aroma is herbal, camile like, overwhelming. Taste is also herbal, such as medical herbs, mostly tansy. Unlabanced. Body is medium with fair carbonation.
