06/0472013 Bir&Fud (tap). Bruna, molto scura, intensa, quasi impenetrabile, schiuma bianca leggera e non molto persistente. Al naso sentori di lieviti, caramello, frutta rossa e zucchero di canna, ottima. In bocca è dolciastra, con note di cioccolata e liquirizia, finale amaro di buona intensità. Corpo medio-pieno, carbonazione leggera. Magnifica belgian strong ale!

Bottle from Swords. Nice malty strong ale. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, and wine; hints of grain and liquorice. Taste is sweet, with light bitterness, and long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Dark brown, with a frothy head.

Pours very dark brown with a small head. Nose shows burnt figs, rich caramelised bready malt, brown sugar, toasty melanoidin malt. Very rich. Equally rich flavours, with toasty and bready melanoidin malt, golden syrup and some burnt, almost roasty, dark sugary fruit. Also some subtle booze. Nice creamy carbonation works perfectly.

Dark, almost black with small light brown ring of foam. Aroma is licorice, coffee and chocolate all mixed. Taste is bitter, cold coffee with some carbonation. Nice bitter aftertaste, coffee again. (Catania 201212) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Very dark brown with a modest but fine beige head that laces well. Aroma of leather, prunes, raisins, figs, licorice, chocolate. Rich, sweet and boozy with dried fruit, dark caramel, only a little chocolate, licorice/ anise. Dries out a little at the end, more than enough to avoid being cloying. Slightly syrupy with enough carbonation to lighten it. Good.

Wonderfoul aroma of coffe, roasted, liquorice, chocolate, ripe fruit. Taste is maly and full bodied.

Questa mi è piaciuta moltissimo......Belga nel naso e in bocca...... Marrone scuro con riflessi ramati, schiuma beige fine e poco persistente. Naso da quadrupel: prugne, fichi secchi, liquirizia, cioccolato..... entra dolce, calda e morbida.....bel corpo e finale interminabile.....10 e lode.....

Clear medium to dark brown amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, grass - leather, light roasted, wood notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, light roasted. Very balanced. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120316]

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy aroma. Fruity malty spicy yeasty flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel finish.
