The aroma resembles the hand sanitizer I use in the kitchen--Juniper hand santizer--which disturbs me. I also detect celery, grass, metal, red licorice, grain, and the overall smell of a horsebarn. This is hilarious considering the beer comes from Dalarna.
The mouthfeel is slick with the consistency of carbonated water.
The taste? The hops are front and centre. Hoppier than any representation of the style I’ve had. It’s almost like Nils Oscar’s India Ale in some respects, but with winegums and lemon added in. The aftertaste is extremely copper.
A solid brew, even if the aroma put me off initially. The best example of the style I’ve had. mikkopen (90), Oulu, Finland Jul 11, 2008 330 ml bottle. Hazy golden orange-yellow colour. Medium-sized white head. Citrus fruits, apricots and hops in the aroma. The flavour is mildly malty, with citrus fruits and a bitter hoppy finish. Some metallic notes in the flavour, too. Overall, an OK ale, but nothing special. petermadsen (314), Vesterbronxxx, Denmark Jul 5, 2008 A distinctly hoppy ale, with an aroma of pine and citrus. The flavour is malty with some malt, a clean hop profile and a nice bitterness. A fine and wellbrewed beer. JoeMcPhee (3643), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 5, 2008 500 ml bottle. Very cloudy orange/golden beer with a fast fading white head. Aroma is lightly malty with a light wheaty character and a hint of peach/apple esters that remind me of Coopers Pale Ale. There is a bit of light earthiness and mineral crispness that lends the beer a certain rusticity, but it isn’t any sort of farmhouse ale that I’m familiar with. Flavour is lightly earthy with a peachy/pear fruitiness. It’s a decent quaffing beer. Ljunkan (107), Karlstad, Sweden May 30, 2008 A beer I didn’t find that amazing first surprises me now. Wonderful hoppy smell with some citrus notes. The taste is unbelivable nice with grapefruit, citrus and some apricot. Feels pretty dry overall with a really, really good bitter finish. I love this beer!
