Bottled@SBWF2009. Goldeny amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is fruits, grass and mild yeasty notes together with some slight sprucelike notes. Flavour is quite much the same in a very nice balanced way.

Draught at Örebro Öl- och Whiskeyfestival. Clear deep golden, small head. Very distinctive Amarillo aroma - perfumy lychee and grapefruit. Mid-sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel,. Growing piney bitterness. A seemless hop bomb, where the blast in the aroma just carries on over the flavour and finish.

Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear deep golden, small head. Perfumy nose with gooseberry and rhubarb. Mid-sweet with dense rounded malt forming a mid sized body hidden underneath tropical fruits. Fresh and perfumy with balanced bitterness. Another winner from Oppigårds!

Bottle in my Stockholm hotel room. Almost clear amber beer, tiny pale cream coloured head. Palate is crisp and slightly dry. Okay malt base, slightly sweet and dry with a touch of raw grain. The Amarillo hops provide a little fresh orange and mild bitterness. Finishes semi dry and minerally crisp. Okay if a little malt led.

2012-05-10, bottle, 5.9% ABV, 8-5-7-3-15=38
Bright amber color. Aroma of caramel and demerara sugar, with a hint of cookies and lemon; perfumy. Dry mouthfeel, but the body is quite chewy, with solid caramel flavor and a touch of toffee; strong bitterness, with bitter citrus fruits (orange and bergamot) more than fresh fruits (no grapefruit, no lemon).
A very good beer, although I prefer crispier malts with single hops.

2011-05-20, draught at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö, Gustav Adolf Torg, 5.5% ABV, 8-5-8-5-16=42
Amber color, with nice head. The strong hop aroma is first fruity, then sweaty. Dry mouthfeel; strong caramel malt and toffee flavor; resiny and fruity hopping, fresh.

2009-10-20, draught at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö, as 7th Anniversary Ale, 5.9% ABV, 9-5-7-3-15=39
Hazy copper color; big creamy head. The aroma of Amarillo is massive, fruity (a lot of passion fruit and some oranges), lightly piney and grassy; the excellent impact is not lasting, though. The body is thinner than expected; clean toffee flavor, quite dry the first sip, smoother the others; unexpected, almost immediately a sharp metallic touch spoils the experience; this thing vanishes a bit, then. The final is obviously bitter, dry, weak bodied, with some resins and very light fruits. I would clearly prefer a sweeter, maltier beer. Unfinished.
