COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

In short: A textbook example of a caramelized fruity resinous IPA. Good beer
How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed fresh a few days after purchase from a Swedish Systembolaget
The look: Clear deep golden body topped by a medium beige head
In long: The medium intensity hoppy nose is fruity hops (mangos, grapefruits, lemon zest, apricots) with hops resin. Taste has a typical but always pleasant toasted caramelized malts, very clean body, not too much caramel, fresh baguette bready sensation. And of course a generous amount of fresh fruity hops (mangos, grapefruits, lemon zest, apricots) with medium resinous character and also some green pine-needles. Bitterness level is pretty high and it is a bit sticky/resinous, tasty but not super-refreshing. This is once again a Swedish textbook example of the style, and that’s how I’ll remember my pub crawling and bottle shopping in Sweden, lots of expertly brewed quality clean beers, textbook examples that do not “try anything”. Very good beer even though I’ve probably had 50 very similar ones before. Another good beer from Oppigårds, one of the most popular micro in Swedish, a country where 4 out of 5 people make up of vast majority of the population.

Bottle @ home. Clear deep amber liquid with an off-white medium sized head and some lacing. Moderately sweet aroma with peach, mango, ripe pine appples, caramel, bread. Fruity taste in nice good balance with sweetening caramel, bread and some toffee. Flavors of mango, ripe pine apple, lemon and oranges with very good duration. Balanced and lasting bitterness. Excellent.

Nice Amarillo nose, good taste but not very well balanced. Short but pretty bitter end. Color is fantastic and so is the crown. Easy to understand, not complex. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aug ’14. A 0.33 l bottle from Systembolaget, Upplands Väsby. It poured hazy, deep copper body with small head. Very fine hoppy aroma, orange (obvious Amarillo) and herbal with rosemary. Flavor was rather simply bitter at first sip, then gets more sweet, especially towards the finish. A bit bready, too. Smooth, although still quite bitter mellows in the aftertaste with honey malts. Indeed, a pleasant and tasty, full bodied brew. More an IPA than APA. Well done.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2015 Strong and hoppy beer with tropical fruits in the taste and aroma. It tastes more like an IPA than an APA.
