3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A textbook example of a caramelized fruity resinous IPA. Good beer
How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed fresh a few days after purchase from a Swedish Systembolaget
The look: Clear deep golden body topped by a medium beige head
In long: The medium intensity hoppy nose is fruity hops (mangos, grapefruits, lemon zest, apricots) with hops resin. Taste has a typical but always pleasant toasted caramelized malts, very clean body, not too much caramel, fresh baguette bready sensation. And of course a generous amount of fresh fruity hops (mangos, grapefruits, lemon zest, apricots) with medium resinous character and also some green pine-needles. Bitterness level is pretty high and it is a bit sticky/resinous, tasty but not super-refreshing. This is once again a Swedish textbook example of the style, and that’s how I’ll remember my pub crawling and bottle shopping in Sweden, lots of expertly brewed quality clean beers, textbook examples that do not “try anything”. Very good beer even though I’ve probably had 50 very similar ones before. Another good beer from Oppigårds, one of the most popular micro in Swedish, a country where 4 out of 5 people make up of vast majority of the population.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A clear orange body with a scarce head that leaves lacing on the glass. Nose is mild with sweet notes of berries, flowers and rapeseed. The nose is quite different from my experiences with amarillo. Taste is sweet at first which backs up the hefty, lingering bitterness. Fairly soft carbonation and ample palate. Quite nice and well balanced hoppy beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle, many thanks to Garlic of Doom! Pours a deep, reddish amber with lasting white head. Ticks all the hoppy, fruity, citrussy boxes required of Amarillo. Decent easy-drinking APA.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle. Pours clear light orange with a big head, not very stable though. Floral grassy nose, very strong for an IPA. Sweet but bitter taste, lots of hops too.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Notes of fruit and a thin layer of malt on the nose. Appears golden amber, low/medium carbonation, thin white foam. Tastes heavily of the hops, towards fruity, orange and tamarind. Some bready notes. Bitterness sits for a while. Nice APA (bordering IPA).
