COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

In short: A textbook example of a caramelized fruity resinous IPA. Good beer
How: Bottle 330ml. Consumed fresh a few days after purchase from a Swedish Systembolaget
The look: Clear deep golden body topped by a medium beige head
In long: The medium intensity hoppy nose is fruity hops (mangos, grapefruits, lemon zest, apricots) with hops resin. Taste has a typical but always pleasant toasted caramelized malts, very clean body, not too much caramel, fresh baguette bready sensation. And of course a generous amount of fresh fruity hops (mangos, grapefruits, lemon zest, apricots) with medium resinous character and also some green pine-needles. Bitterness level is pretty high and it is a bit sticky/resinous, tasty but not super-refreshing. This is once again a Swedish textbook example of the style, and that’s how I’ll remember my pub crawling and bottle shopping in Sweden, lots of expertly brewed quality clean beers, textbook examples that do not “try anything”. Very good beer even though I’ve probably had 50 very similar ones before. Another good beer from Oppigårds, one of the most popular micro in Swedish, a country where 4 out of 5 people make up of vast majority of the population.

Tap. Brownish creamy head. Thick layered and dotty lace. Chrystal golden ochre. Fruity hops on aroma. Smooth, full and bity palate, high on proteines. Well-balanced, malty and hoppy, good bitterness, citrus, mango, pine etc. Excellent APA.

Draught @ Ølhus København
Aroma has fruity hops, some fruit juice and mango. Flavour is hoppy with fruit juice and alcohol. Finishes unpleasant with hayish tones, glue and minerals. Nice, but the dry finish ruins the show.

Sweet aroma, a littl stodgy, not getting the amarillo I like. Bold orange, almost no head. WTF in the mouth. Sticky water with a bit of fizz?!? some malts, sweetish a bit grainy. Bit of husky bitterness (think cetennial). Finish is pleasantly bitter, dry and resiny, like the crust round the rim of an old witches cauldron. that’s the best bit. smelling ain’t so good, and the taste is just plain meh, but once you’re past that there’s something to reward you.. Expected better of Oppigords, they’re historically very solid brewers.

Strong citruslike aroma not surprisingly when only Amarillo hops used both in the brew and dry hopping. Taste is well balanced though still a bit sweet with a lightly bitter finish.
