3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Purchased at systembolaget in Goteborg sometime in the middle of April, 2011. Overall, this is a very robust ale, with good body and lots of flavor that definitely favored the hoppy side.
Pours with a deep, dark amber color and a medium-sized off-white head. The lacing is very dense and sticky: the appearance is excellent.
The aroma is reminiscent of pine, fruits (plums perhaps), and a hint of caramel.
The mouth feel is somewhat creamy. The is taste is relatively complex: a bit herbal and fruity in the start, with a distinct bitterness in the finish that lingers on for a bit too long.
A very good ale and one that I would buy again.

På fat hos Bishop Arms i Stockholm. Engelsk typ, jordig med viss fruktighet och blomtoner. Avslutar med en knäckighet som ligger kvar som klibbig sötma i munnen.

Ljusröd med liten skumkrona. Viss citrus i aromen. Omedelbar beska som sitter kvar länge. Utöver humlen inte så många andra smaker. OK, men lite för bitter för påskbordet.

500ml brown bottle with an Easter themed label with ha rooster. Appearance is clear amber with a medium sized frothy beige head, that settled down quickly, leaving a little lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, lemon peels, dried apricots and caramel. Flavours of grapefruit, dried apricots, caramel, honey and a hint of spices. Taste is light-medium sweet and medium-heavy bitter. Palate is medium bodied, oily texture and average carbonation. Oppigårds Easter Ale is too hopped and citrusy to par well with the food in a typical Swedish Easter dinner. Overall a good beer, but I would not have associated it with Easter.

On tap at Nya Tröls. Primarily caramelly with a hint of hoppiness, not one of their best.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
A slight smell of hops in the aroma. The taste is quite so metallic and watery with a heavy bitterness. The aftertaste takes the heavy bitterness at the back of the mouth and last for quite some time but still impresses unfortunately not for me. A watery beer only. Beautiful easter ale. Massive caramel aroma, containing "knäck", toffee, nuts, and syrup. Frutiness also, and marzipan. Berries. Taste of toast bread, toffee, bread baked with syrup, and fruit. Nice mild bitterness at the end.

A fine refreshing drink for a warm summer day. If you have tasted Jul or Påskmust you could feel some resemblance. .
