3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MikeKeller (584) - Kemi Rock City, FINLAND - APR 29, 2011
Bottle from Systembolaget
Clear reddish brown colour, totally vanishing white head. Piney hoppy aroma. Very malty taste for a Oppigårds ale, also hops and ash. A bit of a dissapointment. I prefer the typical fresher tasting Oppigårds’.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 dnoaksson (579) - , SWEDEN - JUN 3, 2012
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 konstifik (573) - SWEDEN - APR 6, 2010
Unclear orange-brown with a small, cream-white head. Some fruity hops, a mild spiciness and sweetish caramel malts. Well-balanced but not very bold. Good drinkability.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ljunkan (529) - Drammen, NORWAY - MAR 28, 2009
Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours a copper color with a mediumsized white head which fades away to a smaller one leaving some lacing. Aroma is interesting but not that powerful: roasted malts, coffee, cacao, milk chocolate and some pine needle hops. Flavour is really nice with a dominating hop character of pine needles, grapefruit and apricot which is balanced by a some nice malty cacao, coffee and toffee. Finish is nicely bitter. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, quite dry mouthfeel. Overall just another one of those tasty Oppigård brews!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Kalli (502) - Falun, SWEDEN - APR 6, 2009
Touch of toffee on the aroma but mainly somewhat citrusy hops. Mild and balanced in the mouth with touch roasty and caramely malts complimented by the citrusy hops. Pleasant and satisfying.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Egon (478) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - MAR 20, 2008
Bottle. Dark amber with white head. Nice fruit and bitterness. Grass, sweet. A bit metallic. A bit of perfume? Good balance.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ricke (476) - Malme, SWEDEN - NOV 19, 2009
Serving date: 2009-03-25.
Dark amber with brown hues. Somewhat cloudy. Slightly beige and uneven but thick head. Small lacings.
An interesting but not that powerful smell. Sweet malts, caramel, some brown sugar. Pleasant fruity hops (orange, peach).
The taste is of toffee, nuts, oatmeal cookies, some herbs, orange peel, dried apricots and a general fruitiness that’s quite pleasant. Nice balance between the different flavors, though sweetness is slightly dominating. The finish has a gentle herbal bitterness to it, some grass, mild spices and a faint note of dry earth just at the end.
Medium body, quite high levels of carbonation. Still feels rather creamy, though.
It seems like there’s a well executed craftsmanship behind this beer. However, it’s really not that bold. A good and pleasant beer, but nothing extravagant.
