Aroma is very young, earth, oak, and some kind of saltish. Taste is oak, no coffee, no chocolate, but black malts, some malt bitterness and some fine hop bitterness in the end. Good, but young.

Very dark with a small tan head. A quick whirl leaves a bit of lacing on the glass. Chocolate, dark fruit cake and Madeira in the aroma. Medium sweet, some roasted bitterness and slightly sour. Hints of vanilla and liquorice. Low carbonation, medium to full body.

courtesy of Per - very dark brown almost black beer under a persistent creamy beige foam; deep roasted coffeish aroma with nites of licorice; thick and creamy palate, moderate carbonation; a decent bitterness on top of a sweet malt backbone; pretty dry earthy and roasted finish showing notes of tar, nuts and licorice - impressive

TEJA (1371) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 16, 2012
Sampled at SBWF, 2011. A dissapointment. Oppigårds usually make such good beers but they didn’t have any luck with this one. Brown short head. Brown color. Much oak aroma. Tart wood taste with too much chrystall maltiness.
