Bottle. Pours a nice golden colour, as the name suggests. The taste is very rich and pleasant with low sweetness and almost no sour tones and with a very bitter, rich aftertaste. Recommended.

Extremely close to perfection! Stylish balance between hop bitterness and the crunchy malt base. Also, the beer is mild and refreshing.

16.9oz bottle. Thick, murky brown-orange color with a nice lasting head. I was afraid this one might not be so fresh, but the importation process hasn’t negatively affected the beer in any way i can discern. Aroma is right on, fresh brewery malt. Mouthfeel has an earthy almost APA hop character, except there is a smoother, more elegant citrus finish. Excellent beer.

Dark blond colour. Thin lacy head. Nice aroma that is both sweet and hoppy. Well balanced flavour. At first the slightly sweet but well rounded malts then later the hops come through to leave a very pleasant, moorish finish.

Pours a clear golden color with small white head. Refreshing smell, bready, herbal, slightly fruity. Medium body with prickly carbonation. Creamy texture. Taste is mostly bitter. Aroma of hops, citrus, spices. Floral and grassy notes. Very refreshing. Finish is dry and bitter. Overall, nicely balanced beer. Tasty and refreshing. Recommended.

Extremely surprised by this beer. With the level of taxes and price in Sweden I did not realise they had breweries producing this quality and taste. I dislike sweet bland lagers and beers and this one suits my palate perfectly. It very much reminds me of Boddington’s of Manchester bitter before takeovers by mega brewers with no interest in beer other than mega profit, reduced it to a bland nothingness. When I first drank Boddington’s bitter it needed time to become used to it and maybe this Golden Ale by Oppigards falls into the same class, hence the low scores, but once accustomed to the high level of hop taste, all others tasted thin by comparison. Our local Hofer (Aldi) in Slovenia is currently selling a range of Oppigard bottled beers, of which four are outstanding. I will be buying plenty to store for the future months whilst stocks last, fortunately at Slovene prices rather than Swedish.

Bottled. Round and soft ale, which opens into full complex flavour. Wonderful hoppy aroma with grass, grapefruit and pine.

Bottle. Golden color. Grapefruit and flowery and peppery hops in the aroma. A firm peppery hopbitterness in the flavor. Creamy, oily, flowery and grassy. Citrus fruit. Long and firm hopbitter aftertaste. Simply delicious!
