   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 15/20
tfredvik (1031) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 23, 2014
Pours a crystal clear medium amber body with a light tan head that reduces to a fully lasting layer, good lacing. The aroma is pretty strong and is well balanced between hops and malt, although it’s definitely very hoppy. Overripe tropical fruits incl. peach, caramel. Strong flavour of slightly overripe tropical fruits and caramel. Pine in the long-lasting heavy bitter finish, that follows the moderate to light sweet initial taste. There are also notes of bitter orange marmalade in the back (D’oh! I though I was an inventive rater that for once found an element that I very seldom get in beers, but now I see that the previous four raters all mention orange marmalade. Blast.). It’s a dry beer with a medium body and moderate carbonation. Top class!
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 4 months before BB date, from Systembolaget Gårda, Göteborg]

mmahut (901) - CZECH REPUBLIC - MAY 20, 2014
Bottle, european local swap 5.0 with hackobock. Pours in clear darker amber body with low to medium frosty head. Aroma has biscuit character with intense floral background, dark fruits, light honey. Taste opens with high malty caramel sweetness with high earthy floral bitterness, grassy after taste. Body is full, oily texture, high carbonation. Very refreshing.

Holmen1 (2293) - Stavanger, NORWAY - MAY 9, 2014
UPDATED: JUL 5, 2014 Fra flaske på RBHD-treff ombord på Fridtjofen mai-14: beskjedent film/gardinskum. Ravfarget. Karamell, citrus (inkl. appelsinmarmelade) og litt furunål i aroma og smak, og med en fin munnfølelse. God balanse i humlebitterheten. God, men ikke helt sikker på om den er en reprise verdt. Reprise på hytta, flaske fra Systembolaget Lund, juli-14: for SEK 22,50 er den absolutt reprisen verdt. Fin aperitif før vi skal ut og spise middag.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Deep orange to reddish amber colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of slightly unfresh orange marmalade. Medium sweet flavour, notes of piney hops, again unfresh orange marmalade. Drinkable, but not Oppigård’s best.

Bottle at home, from Systembolaget Nordstan, 13/04/14. Clear golden amber with a well appointed off white covering. Nose is bitter citrics, caramel malt, Bakewell tart icing, orange pith, earthy hops, straw. Taste comprises bitter orange, caramel malt, Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness rides a malt laden base in the close. Decent enough malt driven IPA, good balance.

Aroma: flowery hops, grass, bread malts. Appearance: dark amber, medium creamy head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: bitters coming up slowly, grass, flowers, getting quite intense, long finish. Overall: nice IPA, excellent palate with sweets and bitters competing. Bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm.
