Commercial Description:
This ale is brewed from no less than four different types of malt as well as barley flakes and roasted barley. The amounts of hops used are relatively small, which gives the beer an evident malt character.

It poured a clear dark brown liquid with a small light brown foam. Smell and taste sweet, honey, caramell, yeast and vanilla. Smooth mouthfeel, thick body.

Bottle (Vintage 2005) at "Stockholm Beer & Whiskey Festival 2007". Clear red/brown - offwhite head. Berries, caramel, red berries, malty, light roasted, soapy-hoppy. A bit boring !!

Bottle, Tegnérs Gömställe. Just a yellowy film covers the clear dark mahogany pour. Slightly oxidized (BB July 2006, 2005 vintage) nose with sherry and almond notes that cover the neglectable hops and dried raisins maltiness. nothing very intense, all smoothened, polished light plum and slightly earthy flavors. Low carbonation enhance that smoothness sensation. The malts remains fairly toasty, not too fruity, mostly darker grain flavours though not quite roasty. Ultimately, feels a bit touristy, you never quite get to know the beer with all these flavours remaining on the surface. Short finish and a bit tired body. Still interesting.

Bottle. Deep brown, medium fluffy beige head. Roasted and syrupy aroma with citrus hops. Medium bodied and very smooth. A bit sweet but a firm bitterness balnaces this beer very well.

(Bottle from 2005) Pours clear dark brown/red. Malty, raisin aroma with some toffee hints. Salty but honey sweet. Sweet dark fruits flavour with a well blended bitterness but a unbalanced sweetness. Some chocolate. Small to medium body.

2005 vintage - hazy dark brown colour with almost no foam; aroma of nutand wood; very robust malt body and a pronounced dry bitterness and a long biscuity maltiness with light hoppy notes - a solid brew with an impressive malt profile

2005 version
Clear dark reddish brown color, light brown or tan head. Malty, minty and spicy scent. Grainy, dry, harsh bitter taste, not pleasant. Long dry, hars, bitter aftertaste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel, dry harsh bitterness, a bot low. Hasn’t aged with dignity.
6/4/4/4/10=2.8
