COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Oppigårds Starkporter är ett nytt öl som har världspremiär i porterstaden Göteborg. Närmare bestämt på THE ROVER. Fråga i baren när det kopplas på. Styrkan är 5,9 % ABV. Men styrkan i denna porter sitter annars mer i den kraftiga choklad och kaffesmaken. OG 1067, SG 1022. Stort restextrakt med andra ord. Fyllig.

Dark, nearly opaque cola brown. Milk chocolate nose. Medium-bodied, wet and just the slightest bit of carbonation. Chocolate and raisin and a little coffee on the finish. Flavor doesn’t quite deliver what the nose presents.

Not a bad beer. Roasted malts, chocolate and maybe a hint of caramel hit you up front but for me the clean bitter finish makes the beer. The aroma was too tight though not much there and the body is very thin.

Smak och doft av kaffe, choklad med toner av läder, trä och laktris. Bra balans med en frisk beska.

Nose is pretty tight. Kind of thin. This is one those cocacola beers. Big saving grace is finish.

Pours black color with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, cocoa and some fruits. Flavor of chocolate, malts, caramel and fruity notes. A bit thin-bodied, otherwise quite good.

50 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 29.08.2009
Aroma has well roasted malt, coffee notes, licorice and hints of nuts. Flavour has rather nice level of roastiness with coffee, some licorice and hints of ash. Dry finish. Good stuff, too bad I got just one bottle.

Bottle at the Bishops Arms Malmo. One of the nicest beers ive tasted but more or less what I expected. Lovely inviting spicy aroma. A hint of chocolate and maybe a little coffee. Not a great head and just a little lacing. A very dark pour, just the way it should be. It was served just a little on the cool side which I feel suited this refreshing beer. Will try again and recommend to others. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

0,5 l bottle from Systembolaget Passagen, Stockholm. Small, creamy, brown head on a deep mahogany body verging on black. Good lacing. Leather, roasted notes, coffee and liquorice on the nose. roasted, toasted light wooden and bitter flavors with liquorice and dark dried fruits present. Full body. Smooth like velvet. nice roasted finish and a dry tongue.

(50cl bottle) Courtesy of Blomster. Pours a tall head atop a opaque body. Nose is smokey and sour milk. Very gritty bitter coffee flavor, some chocolate shavings. Interesting. Reminds me of Scotch Irish’s sour porter. I like this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
