Bottled at Craft Republic. Dark brown to black, light chocolate and malty aroma, sweet malty taste with notes of roasted malts and chocolate. Body isnt full enough for a style. Not bad.

Many thanks to Emil for the bottle! Pours an oily, black color, with a small, stable, brown head. Smells of roasted coffee, slightly bitter, grassy hops, toffee and bakers chocolate. Hints of syrup and honey lead to a sweeter nose, with lots of hops and cold pressed coffee beans underneath. Has a fitting lower carbonation, and a medium body. Tastes of earthy coffee and slightly smoked malts, together with molasses, chocolate and honey. Hops add a gentle bitterness with tobacco and scorched malts, leading to a slightly bitter overall taste. Cream is big in this though, highlighting the sweetened chocolate. Finish is all about creamy coffee, syrup, honey and burned malts, accompanied by a pleasant bitterness. Wow, incredibly versatile beer, artfully put together. All flavors are recognizable in a pleasant, well balanced way, with coffee finding a worthy counterpart in earth and honey.

Rating #2200. Aug ’14. A 0.33 l bottle from Systembolaget Klarabergsgatan, Stockholm, as the only Swedish IS I could find in more than dozen of their shops visited! It poured almost black body with medium sized brown head. Pungent roasted malt aroma, coffee the most, along with cocoa, wood, licorice and touch of other herbal spices. Admittedly, quite complex. Flavor was mostly bitter, roasted, coffee, herbal spices with some sweeter malty notes as chocolate or caramel more pronounced towards the finish. Medium bodied, light for the style but tasty anyway, a well made imperial stout.

Black as night with minimal light brownish head. Nose is liquorice, roasty coffee, some sweet tones, like plums. Taste is sweet malty with some tones of liquorice, coffee and maybe chocolate kicking in at the end. Well balanced stout!
