3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep amber body witha generous tan colored head. Black cherries, toffee and black tea are in the nose. There is also a hint of anise. The taste has notes of toasted almonds with some bread crust. There is also a little bit of toffee. The body is a little chewy with a nice roasted character in the finish. A decent winter warmer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2008 Bottle, Tegnérs Gömställe. Filtered orange pour wearing a quickly fading off-white head. Rather earthy malt profile bears a solid toastiness and faded milk chocolate flavors. The support hops also seem to be quickly fading away, leaving little aromas left, a faint floral appeal, yet the bitterness, nutty, leafy remains. Constantly smooth, this is from last winter, but it feels 2-3 years old at least, begun oxidation should sonn bring forward metallic notes I’m afraid and the body starts to get a bit loose.
Earthy, tea-like. Dry palate, but butterscotchy. Soft maltiness, toasty. Strawberry notes, gently herbal. Raising from 2.9 to 3.1.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice clear dark amber with a large, creamy, lacy off-white head. Good hoppy aroma, lots of flowery hops, light caramel and toasty chocolate. Medium body, quite smooth, but the flavours are not too pronounced, light herbal hops, caramel and nuts. A solid, smooth finish rounds off a fairly faultless beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(Bottle) Dark amber colour with ruby notes, huge off-white head. Fruity nose with toffee, caramel, some chocolate, cardamom, orange, herbs and lots of fresh hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with toffee, caramel, chocolate, spruce needles, orange, dark bread and spicy hops. Seriously hoppy finish. A bit unbalanced, but with a great hop character that makes my day.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma:lovely malt, rich yeast, figs, bitter almond, Seville orange, vaguely cheesy & salt, sourish, wet cardboard, oatmeal, hot liqueur scent.
Appearance: clear, cherrycordial red, light beige head that appears good.
Flavour: initial sweetness followed by meaty full-bodiedness, mild bitterness that lingers in the aftertaste like toast. Fruity vanillanotes, nutty and hopbitter in a way that appears sourish. Very rustic. The hops appear more as the temperature rises. Proper beer.
Palate: very good, smooth, feels stronger than it is, not that much co2 - good.
