Bottle from Louisville Beer Store. Slight caramel malty body. Not too winter heavy in taste. Bit of tropical fruit. Decent.

(Draught at Bishops Arms Bellmansgatan, 20111116) The beer poured reddish brown and clear. Its head was medium sized, long lasting and white. Aroma had malts, roasted malts and molasses. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, hops, citricness, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty, fruity and bitter. If my tastebuds weren’t completely messed up this was an interesting and quite good fruity and malty beer.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2011 Amber colour, off-white head. Malt and grapefruit in the aroma with some spicy notes. The flavour is sweeter than your average Oppigårds but the bitterness still maintain the upper hand. Hefty.

On tap at 3 Små Rum, Gøteborg. Pours clear and deep ruby with a small off-white head. Deep malty aroma, sweet candy and flowers. Taste is more mellow, allthough the hops shows it´s presence with a more bitter brew at the end, a very good sipper.

Pours a clear dark golden amber with a pale golden tan head. Aroma is not strong, is malty with a hint of apple. Malty flavor is rather plain, with a woody hint and not much else. Texture is fizzy and just a teenzy thin. I’ve had better - but I’ve had worse.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2012 Malty hops aromatic scent with floral nuances. The taste is sweet with notes of floral and fruity hops and grainy caramel malt. Lingering dry hops bitterness in the aftertaste. OK!

Aroma: rich malty feel with plenty of citrus and caramel.
Appearance: dark amber with thick haze to it. Large creamy dark beige top, sparse lace. 4-
Body , Flavour , Palate and Final Notes: full bodied. Fairly low carbonation . Malty, bready ,s sweet sided , caramel on top with citrus sided hop profile. Rye bread at mid end. Slight spice feel above. Felt stronger that listed 5.3%. Nice hefty brew.

Pours cloudy brown with beige head. Aromas of pine, bitter orange, grapefruit, sweet malt and spices. A good bitter taste of noble hops and caramel-like malt. Not really a Christmas beer but a nice ale for the winter year.

Man skulle kunna hävda att de flesta av Oppigårds öl har en snarlik smak. Man skulle kunna hävda att deras winter ale inte är så julig. MEN sätt dig vid granen med några för årstiden lämpliga citrusfrukter så förstår du också vari det juliga består. Det får dig att vilja byta ut alla söta eller överkryddade julöl mot denna friska välhumlade ale varje dag i veckan hela julsäsongen. Det juliga eller vintriga med denna ale är att malten ges lite mer utrymme väl matchad av en spänstig tallterpentinsk grape- och pommeransbeska. Det blir fler av denna. Garanterat!
