En bra julöl. Smak och doft av karamell, malt, humle, citrus en aning örter. Bra balans mellan sötma och beska. En klassiker.

Dark fruit and slightly effervescent yeast in aroma. The flavor is malty and similar to the aroma. Very good ale, nicely thick body and good flavor all around.

0.5l. Clear, dark copper with ruby tinges and a five-finger head that lasts forever. A bit of initial skunk fades to reveal a funky earthy-spiced malt and salty leather aroma that seems to have a hint of wild garlic as well! Raisin-molasses, winter-spiced caramel, spruce resin, dried wood, toasted nut, cocoa, apple, and crisp, bitter green herbs are some standouts among the medley of flavors. The medium body is smooth and finishes crisply dry. Excellent brew.

Ahhhhh!!! I don’t know many things better than a good winter brew on a saturday night. Pours a nice, dark amber with a foamy tan head. Some lacing. Very aromatic with a nice sweet and spicy taste. Nice hops in this one. A very impressive, smooth, warming beer.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2012 Bottle from Systembolaget, 2012 edition. Pours dark amber with a big off white head. Malty sweetness, some red jelly candy I cant put my finger on, citrus hops to the nose. Taste is a well balanced combo of dry piny, bitter hops and sweet malts. Long long bitter after taste.

Aroma: Distinct smell of grape fruit, combined with grass, bread and a bit of ... almond? In all very floral.
Appearance: Clear dark amber liquid, much foam with remaining laces.
Taste: The taste is dominated by the hops in citric aromas combined with sweet caramel malt, a well balanced brew.
Palate: Good carbonation which makes it pleasant to drink.
Overall: Perfect on a snowy evening like this!
Note: Bottle. 2012-01-21: A vertical tasting of ’11, ’10 and ’09 shows that storing does not improve this beer. Reviewed 2009-12-15.

Dark ruby red. White head dissolved quickly. Smells wonderfully of bread then citrus. Taste of cocoa. Aftertaste of figs. I like this ale and would recommend it.

Pours a nice very slightly fogged amber with a small crème head off a careful pour. Nose is pretty boring. But the flavor is very nice indeed. Starts off nice and hoppy. Then I get some nice funk on the edge. Then I get a kind of smoked aftertaste. I like this. Feel has a nice level of carbonation to it. Liquid is smooth. This is very drinkable and has an interesting flavor profile to boot. Definitely worth trying. I wish I had more. I wonder if this would ever become available on tap.

500ml bottle into a shaker glass; served cold. Aroma: Pine needles, caramel, lots of hoppy bitterness. Appearance: Slightly hazy, deep mahogany body with a massive, creamy vanilla-white head. Medium+ visible carbonation. Superb lacing. Taste: First flavors I get are pine needles and moderately bitter hops, followed by caramel malt, a maple-esque sweetness. Full flavored and delicious! Palate: Medium body, low carbonation. Long finish that ends on pine-y hops. Slightly warms. Overall: A pretty fantastic winter ale! It reminds me of Christmas trees. Great stuff!!
