ante (3374) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 24, 2004
UPDATED: NOV 8, 2005 Re-rate. Dark amber, creamy tan head. Yeast, cellar, and coffee in aroma. Fruity flavour of dried cherries with notes of dark bread, dark chocolate and yeast. Light to medium bodied. Notes of piney hops, yeast and toffee in the slightly astringent finish. Better than last years version (2.9).

Jeppe (2631) - Brooklyn, Alabama, USA - NOV 28, 2004
Sampled from bottle at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2004 (#20).
Thin head, clear dark brown body. Mild sweet aroma of chocolate, cream, flower, straw and fruit. Roasted malt flavor with fruity notes. Too sharp in the taste and not very balanced. Drinkable but nothing special.

larsniclas (5849) - Billdal, SWEDEN - DEC 28, 2004

MiP (13955) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 27, 2006
Draught, 5.3%. Very slight fruity aroma. Dark red/brown colour. Small, frothy white head. The flavour starts off roasted, turns a bit malty, then quickly bitter. Late roastedness in the aftertaste and slightly sugary.

Rastacouere (6148) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 31, 2007
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2008 Bottle, Tegnérs Gömställe. Filtered orange pour wearing a quickly fading off-white head. Rather earthy malt profile bears a solid toastiness and faded milk chocolate flavors. The support hops also seem to be quickly fading away, leaving little aromas left, a faint floral appeal, yet the bitterness, nutty, leafy remains. Constantly smooth, this is from last winter, but it feels 2-3 years old at least, begun oxidation should sonn bring forward metallic notes I’m afraid and the body starts to get a bit loose.

Earthy, tea-like. Dry palate, but butterscotchy. Soft maltiness, toasty. Strawberry notes, gently herbal. Raising from 2.9 to 3.1.

Sammy (9190) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 17, 2008
Doesn’t look like much, laggerish light after initial foam.Somewhat cheesy aroma. The taste is somehwhat hoppy and refreshing. A natural casklike carbonation. Bit of light lemonlime aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel.

Pours dark mahogany with a beige head that leaves solid lacing behind. Smells of a Samuel Smiths beer, sort of minerally with an earthy hop nose. Malts are toasty and nutty, but still thin on the palate. Very similar to Samuel Smith winter warmer, but a touch more hops. The thin palate reminds me of oxidation, but doesn’t have the flavor, just the texture.

ATLBeerDog (280) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - OCT 11, 2008
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2008 From a brown 12 ounce bottle - Pours a slightly cloudy orange/yellow color. Smells sweet and hoppy. Below average carbonation. First sip is all grassy hops but is certainly missing a needed stronger malt backbone.

finol (2299) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 29, 2008
Bottle from Systembolaget. Smells like an american pale ale. The body is thin. The taste is a bit dry with yeast and some pine.

notalush (5159) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 17, 2009
50cl bottle - hazy amber, moderate lace - aroma is lightly spicy, herbal, biscuity, mildly estery, with some buttery diacetyl underneath - full, soft carbonation - some dry, crackery maltiness, with some moderate toffee sweetness underneath - some herbal, tea-like character - a bit of oiliness on the back end, and left behind on the lips - weird - diacetyl and bitterness on the end, a hint of peppery heat - fairly authentic, just not all that good.
