3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Slightly hazy copper brown pour with a tall, chunky beige head that has great retention and leaves nice lacing. Aroma of sweet toffee, fruity esters, citrus hops, nice floral notes, bready yeast and some toastiness. Flavor is a little more on the toasty side, roasted nuts, toast, crusty bread, dry hay, earthy, citrus, floral and pine hops. Light to medium body, off dry, somewhat creamy, but syrupy feel, moderate strength, blanketing and fairly sharp carbonaiton. Good stuff overall, very nice hop profile, that I wasn’t really expecting.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Its head builds up tall and foamy. It is firm and rocky, light tan color and slow fading. A small thin cap hangs on till the very last sip. On the way down the glass it leaves some nice rings of lace. The body has a deep, very dark reddish amber/old copper color with some visible carbonation. The aroma has a modest presence of spicy/herbal hops with a hint of holiday spices and something citrusy. The flavor has a solid hop presence with citrus and spicy/leafy notes. The hops are supported by a mildly sweet and dark bready maltiness. Within it are also notes of brown sugar and a touch of cinnamon. In the finish hop flavor picks up and adds dryness and bit of bitterness. The body has a medium to full feel with a slick smooth texture and active tingly carbonation.

Backlog. Tried a number of times both on tap and bottle. One of the best winter seasonals out there. Oppigård always delivers.

Tap at the Green Lion, Malmo. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy slightly off-white head. The aroma is yeast and red berry fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a rich sweet fruit spiced hop palate. Over medium bodied with average carbonation. Everything a winter ale should be.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
There is a hoppy aroma mixed with a pine and maple like smell. There is also caramel mixed in. It is a nice amber color with a frothy head that is light brown in color. It has an initial spicy bit to it with a light caramel flavor combined with herbs.
