This beer was one of my first obscure microbrews. You can certainly taste the honey and the orange flavor. I don’t know if it was slightly watery or not, but it certainly didn’t have a heavy taste to it. I feel like I could have drank the whole six pack and not feel any different even though it was 5.5 ABV. I’d recommend it, but I’m not going to go out of my way to get it.

Pretty average- honey definitely comes through as it warms up. Unique pils but once is enough. Honey pairs well with the crisp lager notes.

Can from Whole Foods Market in Winter Park, FL. Aroma is honey and orange blossoms. Taste is sweet honey, some citrus qualities. No real Pilsener elements (other than the honey) but a weird Orlando staple. This would sell well at Trader Joe’s (along with the Toasted Coconut Porter)...a little bit novelty.

2015 BJCP Category: 31B Alternative Sugar Beer

AROMA: Mild nose of light grain and some honey. Slightly sweet, but otherwise odorless. 5/12

APPEARANCE: Beautiful orange color with crystal clarity. Effervescent when first poured, but goes flat quickly. Head fizzles away like a soda. No lacing. 1/3

FLAVOR: Does not seem like a pilsner at all. More of an amber ale. Missing the body of a lager. Honey flavor is evident, but tastes like cough syrup. No hop character. Palette is barely tolerable. 7/20

MOUTHFEEL: Not at all crisp as a pilsner should be. Completely tepid, slightly thick. Texture is at least smooth and finish is mostly clean. 2/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Tastes and drinks like an old can, but it’s actually quite fresh. This is nowhere close to a pilsner and completely lacking in character. Seems like failed homebrew, not a commercial product. 3/10

TOTAL SCORE: 18/50

A nice Pilsner with a citrus brightness and malt foamy Carmel. Sweetness obvious. A very nice beer for a Pilsner. Not a German pilz more a fruity American Pilsner. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Clear light amber body with a short, off-white head. Aroma of honey, caramel, raw grain, straw. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Thin to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Honey taste that’s sweet from start to finish. But then there’s grain and corn in the background.
