pumpkinheart (63), Aurora, Illinois, USA Apr 22, 2008 16 oz. can into Oranjeboom branded Lager glass. Pours a light golden color with a flufft white head that doesn’t bother to stick around long or leave much evidence that it was ever there. Aroma is acidic and sweet. Flavor is dull, mostly bitterness and a not exactly fruity sweetness. Can’t really say quite what it is. Mouthfeel is not offensive, to it’s credit. The Dutch part of this man wants to have some love for this beer, but the discerning part just isn’t buying it. Not horrible, however. I could see sitting by the canals, deep into the trashy night, with a cheap six of this, not worrying about the hangover I’d certainly have in the morning.
BillKismet (1401), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 22, 2008 Blonde color with airy foam head. Crisp European Saaz hop aroma is just not my thing. Fairly clean tasting. Medium to light bodied. Very mild graininess is mostly just a backdrop to the European hop flavor. Borresteijn (509), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 19, 2008 I don’t care this is (one of the) the oldest lager(s) in the Netherlands, it’s just skunky crap. If you want a headache, this is your beer. Allen (581), Wölflinswil, Switzerland Aug 12, 2008 Canned 50cl. It pours a deep golden beer with a decent white head. Sulphury malty nose with a hint of lemon. Rather ordinary. Malty taste with a hint of lemon. Not much bitterness. Slightly bitter finish. Decent, drinkable but rather boring. Sparky27 (516), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 6, 2008 Pint can. Pours a light gold with 3 finger snow white head and a bit of lacing. Nose is light hops, grass and sweet grains. Taste is pretty much the same as the aroma. Light to medium mouth feel. Nothing special, but no real flaws either. Refreshing summer beer at the right price. phishpond417 (1409), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jul 29, 2008 oranje-BOOM! Pours a clear pee-pee yellow colour, thin white top, with a skunk aroma that’ll crunk ya! Skunkalumpugus! Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, taste is very grainy. Like incredibly grainy. It was like drinking a grain mill. Bitter dutch hop taste. These folks must have been smoking something to think this beer was anything close to par.
