Bottled. Floral, herbal and raisin aroma as to be expected from a strong barley wine. Red/brown color, large off-white head, good lace. Very sweet, raisin, bitter, fruity, orange, light floral, light herbal. Quite complex actually. Full, syrupy and warming. Again a underrated Danish beer because it’s well brewed, according to the style, complex yet flavorful.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Unclear. Fluffy light brown head. Aroma and flavour is all about alcohol. Aroma has some flowery notes and flavour some light caramel notes. Given the high alcohol the body is quite light. All thats left in the end is alcohol. Way to unbalanced and onedimensional.

Dedollewaitor (14812) - Odense, DENMARK - FEB 22, 2007
draught at Chr. firtal, Odense: Dark brown amber with a fine , unfortunaly, fading white head. Heavy nose with malts, caramel, sugar (sweet) & dark fruits. Too little Hoppyness compared to the powerfull alcoholic aftertaste. Not very well balanced. 12% abv is clearly showing/appearing and felt.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful amber with a big off-white/beige/yellowish head. Sweetish aroma; seems a bit candy-like in the vicinity of the glass, but has lots of rye when you stick your nose in it. Notes of fruit and grainy alcohol as well. Flavour is sweetish. Grainy and fruity. Seems very heavy… actually a bit too much. Not that I don’t like ‘big beers’ but it doesn’t work very well in this one. It’s a bit like a cheap ‘European strong lager’. Notes of plums as it warms. Grainy and fruity finish with notes of apple. 13-12-06.

Bottle at Benny. Light brown with a off white head, some lacings. Aroma heavy malty (fruits), light hoppy. Flavor heavy sweet, light bitter. Full body, soft carbonated, the alcohol is felt!

Lots of alcohol, warming. Light brown, lightly unclear. Off-white head, not lasting. Sweet, malty aroma and flavor. Finish is a bit bitter, hopped.

Bottle. Amber-brown with fine head. Sweet, molasses, caramel, touch of fruit and wood, notes of herbal and earthy hops. Alcohol certainly there but it fits in nicely. Some hop bitterness and alcohol in the finish. Soft, pleasent mouthfeel. Full bodied. After having read the other ratings here I feared the worst. A little one-dimensional - yes, but still quite pleasent. After having had many american barley wines lately it is nice with a version that isn’t too filled with hops. Thanks papsoe!
