COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

bottle from kvickly spinderiet, shared with Gitte. dark brown, gray to offwhite head. aroma of roasted malts and licorice, also more licorice and caramel than rousted malts though. a bit weird. Flavor is licorice, chilies, mild roasted malts, mild hops. I feel a little chilli bite in this one, probably got chillies in it too. The stout part of the flavor is a bit weak.

Copenhagen 16/5 2015. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. Very black label signifies that you are dealing with a licorice beer. Pours very dark brown - almost black - with off-white head. Settles beautifully in thick layer. Aroma is actually of licorice - sharp and salty - supplemented by notes of coffee. Rather soft carbonation. Taste is sweetish of caramel with a sharp bitter edge of coffee and a little licorice. Nicely balanced. Pretty good for as candy beer.

@ Havregatan 150410. Bottle (500 ml) from Kvickly, Helsingör. Roasted malty with liquorice and light chili notes, sweet, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is short, dry and roasted with liquorice and chili.

Clear, very dark brown. Small beige head. Mild, roasted aroma, licorice. Similar flavour with subtle, warming chili. Light mouthfeel, slightly watery finish.

Super dejlig stout fra Ørbæk. Lækker mørk lakrids-oplevelse. Den kan jeg fint anbefale.

Bottle 50cl. Black with a nice foamy brown head. A bit parfumed nose, but obvious tones of liquorice and malt. For a beer of this rather low alc/vol % it is quite rich . I would have preferred more hops to make it more interesting. Medium length.

courtesy of Antonio Rey - black beer with a persistent beige foam; nice lacework; aroma of black cherries and licorice; moderate malt body, some sweetness and a gentle earthy bitterness; more licorice and roasted malts in the finish - decent but not more

The aroma is full of chocolate, coffee and liqourice. The taste is full of the forementioned elements, a nice sweet taste. It feels very light and creamy on the tongue. The color is very black, almost cola-like. The finish is abrupt and soft. It also creates "curtains" along the interior of the glass. A big amount of this beer can be consumed. I’m not a big fan of Ørbæk Brewery but this is beer is very good.
