3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle from kvickly spinderiet, shared with Gitte.
dark brown, gray to offwhite head.
aroma of roasted malts and licorice, also more licorice and caramel than rousted malts though. a bit weird. Flavor is licorice, chilies, mild roasted malts, mild hops. I feel a little chilli bite in this one, probably got chillies in it too. The stout part of the flavor is a bit weak.

Very enjoyable liquorice stout. Somewhat sweet, but not overly so. I really like the liquorice taste from the foam.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. A thick, dense, dark beige head leaves lacings. It has a dark reddish brown body looking clear. The aroma is rather malty, with some wort, roasted malts and dark dried fruits. Plum notes. It’s sweetish on the palate, with a nice carbonation. Rather sweet, with roasted notes, caramel sweetness and some wort. Lasting roasted finish with wort and caramel. Not much licorice going on, and in general it’s rather boring and not very good. 140808

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Ved første øjekast virker dette som en fortrinlig øl og den smager også som lovet af lakrids. Resten skuffer lidt da den, på trods af den flotte sorte farve, fremstår lidt tynd. Kan dog dtadig vældig godt lide den!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, 50cl. Pours hazy, mahogany colour with a beige, creamy head. Sweet, roasted malt aroma with hints of ashes, charcoal, liquorice, pepper, caramel and light berry fruits. Flavour is light salty, mild liquorice, followed by medium dark malty sweetness, mild chilli and pepper spiciness, coffee becomes present as it warms with a light hop bitter finish. Texture is thin, but oily, medium bodied to the light-side with a very smooth palate and mouth-feel. Different from most beers, not in a bad way. Good one.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Flaske på rbhd-samling hos Odd Gunnar: et superflott utseende på skum og farge.Mye lakris sammen med en hot følelse i aroma og smak. Iflg etiketten er den tilsat lakrids, lakridsrot, peber og chili. Litt vandig, men allikevel veldig mye smak for 4,7. Definitivt en annerledes, god og interessant øl. Tørr avslutning. Kjekt å smake noe som ikke er mainstream fra et industribryggeri. Ettersom denne var bb feb-14 vil jeg prøve den i ferskere utgave.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Shared 500 ml bottle at local tasting, bought in Denmark. Organic. BB date 14.02.14. Black colour, moderate beige head. Moderate aroma of dark malts, dust, liquorice and pepper. The mouthfeel is as expected from a 4.7% Ørbæk beer, a little watery for the style. Flavour of moderately roasted malts and liquorice, medium dry, hints of pepper and chili. Nice enough, but as other Ørbæk beers: somewhat half-hearted.
