COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. Pours dark red with a large creamy mocca head. Weak aroma of malt and chocolate. Very clear taste of malt, chocolate, coffee and vanilla, with a hint of licorice. Very sweet taste with a dry aftertaste. Average and cheap, but not all that bad at the price, but I think I’d rather pay a bit more and have a ’Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout’ next time. Sometimes a little bit extra will give you a lot more. ;-)

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel with notes of fruit and chocolate. Bitter taste of hops and dark chocolate combined with malty and caramellish sweetness. Dry, coffeelike finish. Not bad as such. I thought it would be much worse, actually. Still, nothing really impressive.

Bottle: Very dark, but not black appearance with a thick head that stays quite long. Aroma is very good with sweet chocolate and hints of coffee, kind of lemon-ish too, though. Taste is too sweet and the aftertaste is too bitter and coffee-like.

Not much taste of chokolate. Nice bitterness, and a bit sour. Dark brown in color with a white head.

It’s dark, red mahogany with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruit and hints of licorice. The flavor is moderately sweet with pretty much the same notes, only a little mroe watery and with a touch of cellar.

Delirium (636) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 28, 2012
Bottle. A middle-of-the-road chocolate porter. The expected roast, chocolate, and coffee notes, along with a slight odd sourness. Bit of balance provided by dusty hops in the finish. Fairly smooth mouthfeel, and just a slight sweetness. The label is a bit questionable. A stereotypical African tribesman and the caption, "dark and sweet as the African Night", is a bit too 19th-century "Dark Continent" imagery for me to find comfortable...

Bottle at home, present from Claus and Anne, thanks. Clear red-brown with an off-white head. Aroma light to medium malty (caramel, roasted, milk chocolate). Flavor light to medium sweet. Medium body.

Bottle from MiP, thanks! Chocolate, caramel and apple syrup in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with apple syrup and caramel. Thin. Hint of licorice. Sticky mouthfeel. Not unpleasant, but too simple.
