Bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt with caramellish and flowery notes. Roasty, bitterish flavour offset by malty sweetness. Drybfinish. A reasonable brew, but it is hard to say if it is a Dunkel or a Schwarzbier (as stated on the label.)

As Ørbæk Dark Horse, 50 cl. bottle. Dark brown colour with a medium sizeed, creamy off-white head. Lightly roasted aroma with brown sugar, caramel malts, vague hints of honey and coffee. Taste is sweet. Medium body, creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes light bitter with with notes of roasted malts. A bit to one-dimensional in the malt-profile otherwise decent considering the price tag.

Bought in bottle from Copenhagen. Pours quite dark, with very little head but lively carbonisation.
Doesn’t really smell of anything.
Taste is pretty non descript, a bit of malt, quite a bit of caramel, some liquorice.
Pretty thin mouthfeel.
Very average.

05-FEB-2012, bottle @Morten, brought by me, from "Føtex".
Clear medium brown with beige head.
Slightly roasted nose with a little burnt note. Coffee.
Taste is caramel and toast. A little roast as well.
Sweet with a little below medium carbonation. Short and not really bitter ending.
Too sweet and lacks roasted elements to be a good schwarzbier.
I did not expect a lot, and that’s what I got. Earlier Rating: 8/22/2010 Total Score: 2.9 22-AUG-2010, bottle @home.
I expected a dark horse to be black, but then again why should it? It is dark, clear brown with a lasting grey head.
Sweet malty notes, and not really as dark roasted as I hope for in a schwarzbier. More like a brown ale, and I would prefer this to a danish pilsner anytime.
Easy drinking, and OK.
