COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy darkish amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and fruit. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt with fruity notes and a touch of hops. Very high carbonation, in spite of which the mouthfeel is rather thin. Clearly, it is not the best Abbey Dubbel I have tasted, but I have tried far worse examples.

The color is amber with pretty much no head. Taste mild of caramel and a low bitterness from the hops

Bottle from Netto in Copenhagen, pours a mid-dark orange brown with a thin head and aromas of honey, orange and candy. Dry-sweet with a nutty, lightly tart and woody taste, a faint yeastiness and some earthy wood in the finish. Nicely chewy and warming.

Brown, Big head. Smell is sweet malts, fruits and a little plastic. Taste is a little authentic, with banana and some Belgian notes, but it's not really there yet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(50 cl bottle) Slightly reddish brown, almost clear, with a small beige head that dwindles rapidly. Aroma is full of fruits (raisins and other dried fruits), bramble, port/madeira wine, nuts and caramel. Plus just a hint of grassy/herbal hops for the good balance. Has a metallic touch when served too cold. Taste is medium sweet (as could be expected from an abbey dubbel) with low bitterness. A little sticky, the higgh abv not very well-hidden, and lacking a longer finish, but overall a respectable take at that classic style.

Bottle at KØ12. Fruity aroma. Cloudy dark red brown colour. No head. Good brown sugar flavour. Spicy sugar and dried fruit. Good, warming alcohol.
