Bottled (as Vinhandlerens Eget Brygg Crimson Ale). Amber colour, minor head. Aroma is apples, caramel, alcohol, plum and burnt sugar. Flavour is malty, sweet sugary as well as some balancing hops. Quite sour and acidic appleish overall, and especially aftertaste.

Bottled, caged and corked 75cl@RBESG’06 as "Vinhandlerens Eget Brygg Crimson Ale". Copper-amber brown, not much head. Very toffeeish nose. Light, carbonated apple flavors. A bit like drinking a cider. Interesting.

Aroma is yeasty and sweetish malts come through also. Taste is similar like a low alcohol barley wine.

Muddy brown with a tan head. Nice fruity toffee and spice aroma. Sweetish toffee, dark fruits in the flavour. Nice. Cheers Papsoe.

cloudy and not very appetizing amber-brown colour, regualr and stable brown-tainted foam, nice lace; very strong aroma of ginger and nuts, dusty; medium-bodied at best but the malt profile is not constant, finishing quite thin; more spices and some caramel in the aftertaste - it really tastes like Christmas ... but I am not a great fan of Christmas

Amber colour with small beige head. Aroma has some sweetness with lots of caramel. Flavor is also sweet, and again lots of caramel

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2009 Bottled. Hazy, brown with a small beige head. Sweet, malty aroma with hay and cardamom. Flavor is much the same, with a too sticky mouthfeel, and a lightly roasted and bitter finish. Nice, but a little too average. Rating: 6-3-6-3-13-3.1. 060107

Bottle. A hazy, dark orange beer with a finger-thick beige head. Slightly strange with licorice hints on a malty-sweet back. Both fresh and dried fruits chime in, and there’s a herbal touch as well. Quite herbal flavor, with a touch of blackcurrant. Sweet malts, caramel notes and some spices too, and in the end there’s bitterness. Full-bodied but a bit low on carbonation. Not really sure about this one, it’s too unusual, and it fails to bring me the Christmas feeling. Still, it doesn’t feel right to give a 5 on aroma and taste. 091209

33 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Nutbrown colour with nearly no head. Aroma of caramel, nuts and orange. Nice flavour of sweet caramel and toffee. But seems to me very dull.
Earlier Rating: 11/2/2005 Total Score: 2.5
33 cl bottle. Yeast in bottom. Light brown colour with a nice but fast disappearing head. Aroma of caramel and malt. Very sweet malty flavour with notes of some caramel. Medium body. Very dull for a christmas beer.
