4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
One of the tastiest ales I’ve had in months. Utterly delicious. Enjoyed both in Odense, Denmark and at a picnic in New York’s Central Park. Each time, fabulous. It is extremely malty, opaque, full of yeast, moderately sweet and light on hops. Exactly what I look for in an ale. Further, the malt used (whatever it is) is exactly the flavor I love. If I could buy this beer again, I absolutely would. Shame I’m stuck in NYC and not back in lovely Denmark.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
0.75l corked bottle. This one pours a clear ruby-red body with a medium sized big-bubbled off-white top that quickly fades into a thin islandy and sidesticking thing. On the nose I get wort, sawdust, Christmas cake, some nuts and caramel. Not to exciting really, and not extreme either. It’s average on the carbonation and quite thin - almost watery on the mouthfeel. The taste has tones of sweet crystallized caramel and raisins with some slightly mouthdrying woody dryness. A fruity watery bitterness shines through in the finish. Not the most exiting beer I’ve had, but can imagine this could pair nicely with Christmas food. Next please! Oh, wait, this was a 0.75l bottle and there is no one here but me.. 10.11.2012

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Nutbrown colour with nearly no head. Aroma of caramel, nuts and orange. Nice flavour of sweet caramel and toffee. But seems to me very dull.

33 cl bottle. Yeast in bottom. Light brown colour with a nice but fast disappearing head. Aroma of caramel and malt. Very sweet malty flavour with notes of some caramel. Medium body. Very dull for a christmas beer.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: MAR 13, 2006 Pours hazy copper colored with a disappearing off-white head. Sweet and sticky yeast aroma with a touch of stable and hints of butter. Fruity notes also. Flavor is mild malty and caramelly with an artificial candied note. Obvious Ørbæk characters probably from the yeast. Drinkable, but cloying and pretty uninteresting.

Sweet grainy nose with some toffee, murky brown color, fizzy carbonated head that dissappated immediately. Heavy, sugary body with a hint of dark fruit. Little bitter at all. Just too sweet and boring in the end.

20-NOV-2010, tap @Ekstra Bladets Juleølssmagning.
Dark golden/light amber, fine beige head.
Spicey, yeasty with citrus.
Slightly sour note. Is that just from the citrus peel added?

Orange color, noe head, soft carbonation. Marcipan, cookie dough nose. A medium sweet rye taste but all in all very plain for a Christmas beer. Thanks JensenTaster!

Not very interesting. A typical English mid bitter, low carbonation beer. way too expensive.

Flaske: Mørkebrun øl. Kraftig duft af anis og ingefær. Smagen er også domineret af ingefær, næsten for meget. EN tand ubalanceret, men bestemt drikbar.
