Bottle. Brown in color with a tan head. Some dark fruityness, light campfire and dark malty vibes in aroma. Sweetish taste, raisins soup and bready malty notes too. Light bitterness later on as well. Bit of nuttyness in finish. Quite pleasant, but on the sweeter side though.

Bit hazy dark, mahogany color, minimal and short light brown head. Malty and slightly caramel sweet, raisins, light aroma, bit fruits, apple? Fizzy and medium bodied, sweet and malty to long finish, distant herbs. Drinkable but nothing special, alcohol bit too evident.

Bottled 750ml (Alko)
Dark brown color, small beige vanishing head. Sweet raisins and soya sauce in the nose. Medium-bodied. Raisins, dates, soya sauce in the flavor. Short fruity sweetish finish. Quite simple belgian dubbel. Not much interesting bubbling here.

(Bottle, 0.75 l - BB 030816, from Alko, 20151106) The beer poured dark brown and nearly clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had caramel, aniseed, fruitiness and berries. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, aniseed, berries, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste had malts, aniseed and bitterness. A nice malty brew with only moderate amount of spices.

75 cl, bottled. Pours murky brown with a small beige head. Good retention. Aroma: Berries, currants, rhubarb. Grainy notes. Taste: Sweet, grainy malty flavor, some yeasty notes. Some spices. Toffee, caramel. Herbs. Palate: Medium body, slightly oily. Some carbonation. Banana flavours. Not even nearly my favourite, yet it is not bad. Interesting flavours and very sweet brew.

Medium beige head. Clear brown body. Fruity earthy waxy aroma with raisiny vinegary notes. Sweet raisiny spicy cinnamon taste with earthy syrupy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Sweetish vinegary earthy toffee aftertaste with coriander and herbal notes. Well. Messy and all over the place. (0.75l bottle, from Superbrugsen, Copenhagen.)

It foams strongly and consistently and has good aroma of ripe fruit and caramel malt. The taste is strong and full of plum, raisin, hard toasted caramelized malt and slightly spicy flavor. Sweet palate and comfortable, and although it is based in the little alcohol heavy end, so it works not so heavy. It is very tasty and quite type really in its Belgian style.

Copenhagen 30/8 2015. 75 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen. According to the label this beer is a remake of the beer used for initialisation in the Johanitter order. Pours hazy copper brown with off-white head. Settles as thin layer of foam. Aroma is rather sweet and of fermented fruit, alcohol and sugar. Soft carbonation. Taste is sweet and of licorice, toffee and sugar. Aftertaste is sugary and reminds of a Rum Topf. This beer is way too sweet for my taste. So if anybody ever offers me a seat in a order of crudading monks I will have to politely decline.

750ml bottle from Nyborg. Dark mahogany color with a thin off white head. Aroma is very dubbel like with plums, brown sugar but also some vague spiciness. Flavor has sweetness, caramel, raisins, plummy notes. Too sweet for me.

Bottle, thanks hermod! Dark brown. Spicy herby nose, some anise- like brightness, woody notes. Med full bodied, dark bready slight sweet malty. Herby, clean, bit thin flavoured malty. Good for a glass.
