3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
fair aroma, some swet tones in there. some yeast that i don’t like.
looks great. clear brown/red with a sizable off-white head. looks very attractive.
flavor is sweet, a little smokey which i like, but also some kind of bitterness that doesn’t really fit in. nice beer though.
as usual with ørbæk mouthfeel is great (probably because of their water)
Overall drinkable and enjoyable, but not something out of the ordinary.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2010 500ml bottle (SOPP2008, Helsinki)
Toffee aroma. Soft carbonation. Some wet sheep hops taste, softer than
most wet sheep. A bit sweet, and not particularly nutty, but fairly
Rerate: 500ml bottle (Mallaskukko, Turku) 6:4:7:3:13=3.3
Very dusty aroma, dry and hoppy. Rich orange-red, small ring head.
Crisp carbonation. Dry, rather than nutty, but pleasantly woody. Some
soft milkness, but otherwise very pleasant husky grainy beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear amber color, small off-white head. Caramelly malty, bready nose. Caramelly and namelike a bit nutty. Malty, carbonated, light toasted notes. Session brown ale, not really interesting.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle 50cl. Pours a clear reddish-brown (copper) body with a diminishing medium off-white head. Sweet malty, spicy aroma. Flavor is sweet with notes of hazelnut and caramel. Medium body, watery texture. Maybe it could use a bit more power in the flavor but otherwise okay.

2.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle 0.5 l. Aroma sweet malts and admittedly with a hint of hazelnuts -quite allright. Colour clear brown with white/beige head. Taste not that interesting -sweet, malt. A much more dominant nut-taste would have been expected. Soft carbonation.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours a reddish brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma is malty with notes of sweet fudge and caramel. Also some notes of sweet liquorice and dried fruits. It sounds good - but this beer do not manage to combine all the aromas. Flavour is rather sweet and malty with notes of caramel and some roasted coffee beans. Thin on the mid-palate. The finish is a bit roasted and salty with notes of coffee beans and sweet liquorice with some bitterness. It sounds better than it actually was...
