75 cl. corked bottle. Pitch black with a dense, tan head that slowly fades. Extra credits for the penguins on the bottle! Aroma with lightly roasted malts, coffee, dark dried fruis and bits of chocolate. Taste is light sweet. Medium body, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Finishes bitter and smooth, with a good amount of chocolate. Rather nice for a Ørbæk beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Delirium (636) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 5, 2012
Bottle. Pours dark brown-black with a moderate dark-brown head. Aroma is roast malt, with a hint of sweetness, and some dark-fruit notes. Flavor is fairly ashy roast malt, enough to add an overall acidity, with some dark fruits and a little offsetting sweetness. Possibly some other spices I can’t make out amidst that. Note: this is much better if allowed to slightly warm up from refrigerator temperature; at fridge temp it’s mostly roast malt and little else that’s noticeable. Even when warmer it’s still a very roasty and somewhat strange example of an imperial stout; almost more like a roasty doppelbock than an imperial stout, come to think of it. But fairly good overall.
