4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is the best OSB by far. They should stick to the dark!! Hearty flavor and aroma. Hints of coffee but not overwhelming. Hmmm...lingers like the sunset in October.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Deep brown to black color, thin beige head, adequate lace. Nose is malt, hints of the toasted grain, slight caramel undertones. The start is malt, the middle is medium, the finish has a nice hop touch, also some what dry, low to moderate carbonation. A quite good porter, but as with user_Experience, I was expecting another ’Knock-Out’ beer as their ’Stock Ale’ is a real Hoot’.
having said that, I think it is definately worth a try as it is an ’Above Average Porter’.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very black in color; Head was thin but dense; Nose had sweetness, caramel, coffee. Gets a bit chocolatey as it warms. Spreads nicely across the tongue. Satisfying.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark and so smooth, I couldn’t believe it. I think this would get boring after a few. Chocolate city. Very good, just not a challenger. Very slight bitterness. Cookie dough malty...big time.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2003 Great Porter, nice aftertaste, smooth and thick, with the strongest chocolaty coffee flavor i've had. One that is always in my fridge.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a half-ass rating. I will post a rerate very soon. Coffee, deeply roasted malts are dominant, and vinous notes are showcased nicely in this most unique aroma. Finishes very dry. The palate is a bit disappointing. Other than that, this is a very unusual porter and one worth the try, being that porters are usually rather consistently flavorless and unchallenging.

Heeeyyy...now this is actually pretty good. I live in Bellingham and have (admittedly) been giving Orchard Street the cold shoulder after so-so experiences with their Golden and Stock ales, but this is a rather fine Porter. On the sweeter side and very smoky. The barley tastes almost like it was roasted with Liquid Smoke, but until I find conclusive evidence of such I’m going to assume this is just roasted very thouroughly, which I like. Nicely balanced and very good all-around beer.

Smells like freshly ground coffe that has just started to brew in the coffee pot. It makes me want to scream, "the best part of wakin’ up is OSB in your cup." The finish to the flavor is one of hazelnuts doused in carmel roasting over an open fire. It is very sweet and yet so complex. It tastes like there is a hint of brown sugar and some heavily smoke wood chips. It leaves almost a grainy feeling in your mouth. A great complex beer.
