Mazer Cup 2013. brilliantly clear rich gold body with thick legs. both the honey expression and chile pepper expression are rich and layered. very aromatic caramelized sugar, toasted nuts, burnt honey, nut oils and stroopwafels. oily and chewy and full. add in a bright chile pepperiness (though not a lot of chile pulp or heat, instead a lot like padron or shishito peppers), and it’s sweet, full and acidic and spicy enough to wash the sugar from the mouth in a vibrant, sharp and flavorful finish. clean and bright capiscumel. the honey character is superb and I enjoy high acid so no surprise this my personal favorite of the judging.

Bottle @ MJ’s house. Thanks. Clear golden pour with some nice legs. Mild pepper aroma, lots of honey, caramel, and some vanilla. Slight grass and a strong flower note. Flavor is sweet honey, light pepper, and very mild spice on the finish. Grass, flowers, and some caramel. A hint of vanilla as well.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2013 Clear brilliant golden with an aroma like caramel honey butter. Flavor is buttery with sweet caramel and honey notes with a slight peppery heat, finishing sweet and buttery in a good way. Just a little hot and peppery.
