This noble wine was considered worthy of the aristocratic tables, and the recipe is attributed to the Capuchin monks. If you try some, you may find that monastic life was not as boring as we imagine. It is best paired with fruits, cheesecake, and chocolate.

2013.03.30 - Orchid Cellar Knight mead - 375ml bottle in mini goblet glass. Pours a light copper, almost the raisiny color of a barley wine but much clearer of course. Aroma is nice but not spectacular, matches taste pretty well though. Basically honey sweetness. Taste: I’m not a mead expert but I know what I like and I like this. Very nice sweetness, prominent honey tones. Label says lemon as well, but I don’t really get that unless it’s lost but making the sweetness pop by contrast. Nice stuff, sorta vaguely like a clearer North Coast Old Stock Ale with less starchy tones and more sweetness. Surprised and pleased. Aroma 6/10, Appearance 4/5, Taste 8/10, Palate 4/5, Overall 14/20

375 ML Bottle-Autunm Wine Festival, Salisbury Md-Little bit of a redish pour, sweet, floral aroma. Flavors of honey w/floral overtones, maybe some dark fruit. Aged in traditional wine barrels maybe? Solid, not spectacular. probably somewhat spoiled it by having their Archer 1st, as that one was so enjoyable!
