Papsoe (9771), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 19, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of Myrup. Hazy amber golden with a yellowish/beige head. Fat and oily hop aroma with a hint of citrus. Quite full-bodied with a very solid malt base, caramel and again citrusy hops in the rather bitter finish. Not exactly outstanding, but a very solid IPA. 200608 Grovlam (2916), Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 30, 2008 Bottle. [After party @ Papsoe, thanks buddy] Average creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Light cloudy amber color. Aroma of mild hoppy notes, citrus, grapefruit and apricot. Over the palate came soap, dusty grain, grapefruit and hint of pine. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated sweet and bitter flavor. Dry and bittersweet finish. yespr (5611), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 25, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours hazy and golden amber with a lacing white head. Solid hoppy aroma with dense fruity note. Has a sticky caramel malt sweetness already in the aroma. Flavour is dry hoppy and at first, distinct pinewood, holds a subdued caramel malt base where sweetness is completely taken out by the dry bitterness. Ends solid bitter and hoppy. charlotte (1114), Vanløse, Denmark Jun 6, 2008 Bought at Super best Ordrup.Deep reddish colour with off-white head.Aroma of grapfruits, pine and sour berries nice mouth feel well balanced with hoppy finish. thewolf (3392), Kolding, Denmark May 25, 2008 Bottle. [thank you, myrup]
Deep mahogany red with a big, frothy off- white head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, ginger, lemons, grass and caramel. Fine mouthfeel, though there is a bit too much ’heaviness’ to it. Flavour is caramel, lovely berries, pine, citrus and light chocolate. A very pleasant IPA, but not the freshest one I’ve had.
