A Mes rate. Bottle as Pinse Sol at Chris O’s "Has anyone seen my stool?" tasting. Wow, I wasn’t expecting this. The label and name did not exactly have me desperate to taste it. But it was actually much better than the unopened bottle indicated. Semi hazy dark brown coloured with a thin beige head. A really interesting mix of peated malt character giving up some salt and seaweed notes, coupled with some really good smoky caramel. Light phenols and leather too. Decent but swift hit of bitterness in the finish gives way to some pleasing boozy warmth. Nice one.

Bottle at ChrisO "I’m Trying to see the Stool" pre GBBF2010 tasting. Lovely dark beer. Good malts, touch of whisky malt. This beer is all about the malts and the blend is very good indeed.
