Very peppery flavor. Smells like a nice stout. Astringent taste. Bought a draft at ashleys

Tap at brewery. Dark brown. Thinnish mouthfeel. Not nuch nose. Very much a coffee beer.

Tap: deep brown, opaque at the center with some translucency at the edges, topped off with a small, khaki colored collar. The aroma is quite roasty with some sweet cocoa shavings & a light coffee bean essence hidden somewhere in the back. Taste is smooth with mild notes of roasted malts, nuts, woodsiness, & a hint of sweet coffee & cocoa hitting the back of the tongue. Finishes with a touch of bitterness. Overall very drinkable, good stuff.

On tap: The aroma consists of nice blend of dark chocolate and cocoa mixed with some roasted and espresso. It’s a dark brown with some orange highlights and a small beige head that fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. There is a good amount of thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate cocoa and a touch of dark chocolate. There is a faint fruitiness in the background. The finish has light-moderate espresso, light roast, and a touch of sweet vanilla. It’s light-medium bodied with mild carbonation.

On tap. Pours very dark brown to black with a slight off-white head. Has a roasty coffee aroma. Flavor has lots of roasted coffee, anise, and an earthy, nuttiness. Little bit of dark fruit as well. Slightly on the thinner side, but I like this one.

On tap at Red Rock. Pour is a pretty thin dark brown, with a minimal head. The aroma is really bland. It's got some coffee hints, a touch of coffee and a smidge of roast. The flavor is more heavy on the coffee and is extra sweet. It lingers around, and finishes a little dry ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

If I were to have chosen a single beer to try while visiting this might have been it. For a lighter sessionable porter it balances flavor and mildness well. Once again this proves that you don’t have to go big (or sour) to create something noteworthy.

Aroma / Appearance - Rusty brown fluid rests idly below an ivory head. Coffee, malt, baker’s chocolate, and a trace of smokiness feel like sitting down to breakfast in a 24 hour diner.

Flavor / Palate - Malt and coffee drive a rough mouthfeel that feels a bit gritty like a bowl of oatmeal. With solid depth the result is a beer that is not forgettable but also not over the top. A full growler and a couple of hours would be the perfect combination for a lazy evening around the house.

An aroma of leather, coffee, and some chocolate. Appears hazy brown, thin white foam. Tastes of slightly bitter leather followed by a mild applish sweetness. Palate is a little fizzy. Overall, original for a porter, very nice.

Had a glass as part of a sampler at the brewery. Very nice and smooth, delicious.

Pours an almost pitch black color with no head. Mostly roasted malt aroma with a little chocolate. Taste is decent. Again almost all roasted malt. Pretty thin mouthfeel. I expected better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
