On tap. Pours a clear red-amber with a thin, white head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet, mild aroma of caramel malt and grain. Sweet flavour of caramel malt with a mildly bitter, grassy note in the finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation.

Reddish amber. Sweet caramel malt and a bit of grain and, well, really that’s about it.

caramel, cereal, grass, red, clear, minimal head, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, slick feel, average carbonation, bitter Minimal white foam that doesn’t last. Aroma is sweet with grainy hints and minimal hop presence. Lightly carbonated with a slightly slick mouthfeel. Taste is lightly malted caramel with subtle bitterness. A bit watery, but works as a decent session beer.

Ehh. For a made-for-restaurant beer this is so so. Watery and kind of malty. Not too bad if you go Mondays for cheap OJs beers.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2014 The best of the Original Joe?s beers. Comes through ruby red with a thin veil of foam. Good flat palate and generally quite filling.

Pours a clear reddish amber with a small off white head that leaves good lace. Aroma of caramel, nuts, mild grassy hops and some floral esthers. Taste is caramel, munich type malts, nuts and a bit of hop bitterness. Nice and refreshing red ale but nothing too wild.

Pint on tap at Original Joe’s downtown Edmonton pours amber in color with a small white head that leaves little lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and grains. Taste is a caramel malty sweetness with a mild hop bitterness. Below average brew for the style. Not recommended.
