Ritterguts Gose is a top-fermented, sourish and slightly salty-tasting beer that was first brewed in 1824 – it’s the special beer of Leipzig! The Gose is an own, very old type of beer that does not correspond to the German purity law because Gose is much older than it. Even today, it is still brewed with an admixture of coriander and salt in the traditional way with a special yeast in open fermentation. Its particular character our Gose gets thereby and by lactate fermentation during the maturing.

Incredibile birra salata! Colore chiaro e schiuma poco consistente. Aromi di mela ed erba humida. Sapore salato, speziato (noce moscata) e tendenzialmente acido. Leggera di corpo e molto beverina!

50 cl bottle. Pours hazy golden with medium, creamy head. Spices in aroma: cloves and coriander. Same notes + salt, dry and acid notes in taste. Refreshing! Someone should try and fuse this with the Turkish salty yoghurt drink Ayram! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Taste is initially puckering, but then the salt and malt come through. very tastey. like a brett lemonade. finish seems a little sweet. a slight bit of a papery taste as it warms. very quenching.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours golden with a frothy white head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sour and tiny malty with wheat crackers, unflavored yoghurt, hay, white pepper corns and hints of banana bread and coriander seeds. Taste is sour, slightly salty, slightly malty and tiny estery with wheat crackers, lemon juice, unflavored yoghurt, hay, overripe banana, biscuits, lemon zest, orange zest, mineral water and hints of sour milk, sea salt and rose pepper. Mouthfeel is round, slightly dry, tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is sour, salty, tiny malty and tiny estery with wheat crackers, lemon juice, unflavored yoghurt, banana, hay and dry wood. Complex, refreshing and really quite great!
