Ritterguts Gose is a top-fermenting, sour and slightly salty tasting special beer of Leipzig. The Gose is an own, very old beer type and does not correspond to the German purity requirement. It is brewed traditionally with coriander and salt - thereby and by the additional lactic acid fermentation her quite special characteristic gets the Gose. It has certain resemblances to the Lichtenhainer beer as well as to the Belgian Geuze.

Opaque golden yellow with small white foam ring. Aroma is weak, sour bread. As advised drank this very cold, which of course kills most of the taste. Taste is somewhat sour bread, interesting. Think I prefer Belgian geueze. (Neschwitz 201308? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is citrus and salt water. Pours a hazy golden color with thin white head. The taste is fairly sour with a mellow salty finish. Light bodied and very lively. I absolutely love this beer this is what the american knockoff goses should be compared to.

Draft at Tinder Box. Pours yellow with a thin white head. Nice saltiness on the nose. It’s fairly sour on the tongue which I quite like with a nite of saltiness. Finishes clean. I hope this style continues to thrive. It’s great in the summer.

Golden hazy, almost no head. Smell of fruity malts, hints of hops, some sea water and some tart fruits. Moderate sweet, some malts, some salty notes, some moderate sour acids, some fruityness. Moderate bitter finish. Quite refreshing. The sour and salty flavors really is something for the hot weather. I had it in the sun and it was a blast. Probably aquired taste; i didn’t like it all the first time i tried it.

Golden, white head. Smells of grain, malts and wheat. Moderate salty, moderate sour, some grain, not very bitter. Can’t really enjoy this. I expected something exeptional, but this didn’t rock any pant

Pours to a beautiful, hazy deep golden color with a thick, bright white head, and a lively carbonation. The nose on this beer is fantastic with lots of spicy coriander aromas, and citric/fruity aromas. The palate if round and fruity on the palate, with some good flavors of tart and quenching wheat malt, and more citric/lemon/fruity character. It finishes with more tart and quenching character up front, then ends with a very salty finish that lingers. This beer was so refreshing, delicious, unique, and impressive. It has much in common with a classic Belgian wit, more so than any German wheat beer, but is unlike any beer I have ever tasted. I was really surprised and pleased with the salty finish in this beer. It was kind of like a salt rimmed Margarita, you really get that salty flavor along with the citrus and spice. Incredible if you really analyze it.

Big slightly bubbly longlasting head. Aroma is kind of strange, puffed rice, popcorn, sulfur, cereal, hay, salt. Taste is slightly sour-ish, light malts, sorrel, apple skin, grass, lemon, salt, grain, popcorn. Medium bitterness. If only the aroma had been a lot better, then this one would have been really nice.
