Ritterguts Gose is a top-fermented, sourish and slightly salty-tasting beer that was first brewed in 1824 – it’s the special beer of Leipzig! The Gose is an own, very old type of beer that does not correspond to the German purity law because Gose is much older than it. Even today, it is still brewed with an admixture of coriander and salt in the traditional way with a special yeast in open fermentation. Its particular character our Gose gets thereby and by lactate fermentation during the maturing.

Slightly hazy golden pour with a white head. Salty and tart aromas with a touch of spice on the nose. Flavor is tart upfront with a nice malt presence. The coriander and salt come out in the finish. Very refreshing.

P: Hazy yellow/orange with a frosty head. S: Salt, limes, hay, and somewhat resembles a pilsner. T: Salty and coriander get you, some hay, limes, wheat, and a bit of lacto towards the end. M: Thin with medium carbonation. O: A good refreshing beer, it taste a bit like a pilsner but with salt and a small amount of lacto sourness to make you pucker a little.

500 ml bottle. Hazy pee yellow with a big fizzy head, no retention. Aroma is like half a gueuze plus some pilsner maltiness. Taste is slightly tart with green apples and lemon. Light body, soft carbonation. Short dry after taste.
Refreshing, will definitely buy again!

Bottle. Hazy orange liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of bread, lemon, light salt, light leather, earth, lacto and light coriander. Taste is dry and light to medium sour with notes of lemons, salt, light earth and bread. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. Really good, balanced and refreshing. More refined than the modern American counterparts.

Horrible! Not my style I guess. Ordinary lager beer aroma. The taste is like a lager beer with salt...

First sip was shocking where salt encountered sour. Then evolved to be very refreshing and tangy with a unique flavor.
