3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Star Grocery, Berkeley. Pours clear copper with an attractive beige head and a fruity aroma. There is an acidic fruit flavor that does taste a bit like gueuze, but not as fruity. Leaves salt on the palate.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled in a big bottle. Was recommended as it was an original version of a sour. Really enjoyed this beer which was refreshing and citrus base. Very nice brew. Would certainly try to find again.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Blue Monk in Buffalo, NY. I had never heard of this before, but decided to give it a try. It wasn’t as sour as I was expecting...a little bit of fruit flavor in it, maybe some peach or sweet citrus. Had a little bit of sour bite in the finish, but nothing overpowering. Would be a decent intro to more-sour beers for a newer beer aficionado (this is a compliment, not a detraction).

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour a pale orange. Quite cloudy, though that’s not exactly a surprise after following the label’s advice to stir up the yeast before pouring. Foamy white head. Decent retention. Lemony lactic-forward aroma. Some coriander and brine. Some nice fruity malt flavors in the background - apricot and blackberry. Taste is lactic tart with some nice spice and fruit flavors and a salty undercurrent. It’s quite yogurty lactic. Like unsweetened yogurt mixed with lemon rind. Little to no malt sweetness and absolutely no hop character. Light to medium mouthfeel. There’s a little body to the beer, but it’s pretty crisp. The lack of malt sweetness makes the beer feel quite clean. Fun beer. Always nice to find a gose. This would be a fun beer to pair with food.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle shared by Doodler (trhanks Scott!) poured a clear orange amber with a lingering ring of ivory foam. Aromas of wheat, salt, yeast, light coriander and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of wheat, bread, yeast, salt, light coriander and a hint of citrus with a smooth dry lingering salty bread finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. It pours a nice golden color with a disappearing white head. The aroma is fresh wheat, hint of lemon and coriander, clove. Bready maltiness. Almost like a hefeweizen with a touch more lemon. The flavor has a pleasant, easy tartness nicely balanced with good fresh wheat. Apricots, lemon with only a hint of lactic acid near the finish. Not much spice or funk coming through. Very light bodied. Pretty nice, easy drinker but too expensive to enjoy in large quantity.

4.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Delightful and unique. Lager-y aroma, Berliner Weiss sourness combines with a barely perceptible saltiness for a clean finish leaving you wanting more. An indication of the need for a revival of Gosebier, a lot of folks would like this.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
17/03/2013 Ma che siete venuti a fà (tap). Dorata, pallida, limpida, schiuma abbondante e persistente.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
classic example of the style. starts very clean, slightly tart, salt adds a barely perceptible salinity, and there’s a touch of funky grain mustiness in the finish. bit of a creamy mouthfeel.
